In Layman’s Terms, Robert Kennedy Jr. Broke Down Ukraine Conflict for Americans*

*Editor’s note: On March 4, 2022, Russia enacted a law that criminalizes public opposition to, or independent news reporting about, the war in Ukraine. The law makes it a crime to call the war a “war” rather than a “special military operation” on social media or in a news article or broadcast. The law is understood to penalize any language that “discredits” Russia’s use of its military in Ukraine, calls for sanctions or protests Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It punishes anyone found to spread “false information” about the invasion with up to 15 years in prison.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. – a congressman, U.S. presidential candidate, nephew of the legendary JFK who was assassinated in Dallas, and the son of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy who was assassinated at the peak of his political career – is arguably the main enfant terrible of American politics. Today, he stands out as a disruptor of the political establishment, often causing more controversy than the great and powerful Donald Trump. However, the main difference between the two is that we can somewhat discern what the Republican candidate’s intentions are. Unlike Trump, Kennedy Jr. remains enigmatic and unpredictable to many. He is a dark horse, extremist and a rebel who seems to have voiced almost all popular conspiracy theories in the United States.

Nevertheless, Kennedy Jr. remains remarkably popular among voters. He is particularly favored by Catholics, who are notably prevalent among Latino voters – a demographic that have traditionally aligned with Democrats. However, Kennedy Jr.’s primary support base comprises anti-war leftists, who have historically leaned toward the Democratic Party. Nonetheless, recent military actions in Ukraine and Palestine have considerably tarnished the Democrats’ reputation within this pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli community.

Today, Kennedy Jr. could potentially sway a significant portion of former Democratic Party supporters, approximately 10-15%.

Naturally, Kennedy Jr. makes the establishment extremely nervous. Considering his fearless denunciation of the Federal Reserve’s financial mafia (as we recently discussed, there’s a long-standing feud between the Kennedy family and the Fed), it’s clear why mainstream media, serving as the mouthpiece for these financial powers, relentlessly attack the independent presidential candidate, often labeling him as an extremist and a vicious antisemite.

Kennedy Jr. has spent more than a year criticizing Joe Biden’s Ukraine policy, and his remarks have become increasingly bolder over time. In a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, he accused Biden of financing the European military conflict through excessive money printing, all while ignoring the plight of struggling Americans. Now, Kennedy Jr. is stepping up his rhetoric, advancing his campaign by saying, “Two years ago, they lied about the pandemic; now they’re lying about the conflict in Ukraine!”*

He asserts that Biden isn’t just escalating the conflict but is, in fact, responsible for it – alongside his neocon allies.

Recently, while commenting on a New York Times article, Kennedy Jr. pointed out the disclosure of 12 secret U.S. bases in Ukraine established by the CIA in 2015 to train Ukrainian military intelligence personnel. “I wonder how we would respond if Russia or China built spy bases on the U.S./Mexico border,” he said.

Taking cues from Carlson, Kennedy Jr. frames the Ukrainian conflict from Russia’s perspective. Recently, during an interview with journalists from the “Howie Mandel Does Stuff” podcast, Kennedy Jr. broke down the Ukrainian conflict in layman’s terms. Unlike the Russian president, he provided a simplified explanation of the events, avoiding the broad historical narrative and making it clear to the general American public.

“James Baker, the former secretary of state, famously said to [Gorbachev], ‘We will not move NATO one inch to the east.’ Then, five years later, Zbigniew Brzezinski, the first of the neocons, proposed, ‘Let’s move NATO right up to the Russian borders into 15 nations.’ George Kennan then said that this suggestion is crazy, and William Perry, the secretary of defense, also threatened [Bill] Clinton he would resign, but no one listened to them. In 2014, we came to Ukraine and overthrew their president, Yanukovych. The coup was effectively led by Victoria Nuland, the head of the neocons, now No. 3 in the State Department. Then, the Ukrainian government we picked immediately started attacking Donetsk and Luhansk, with their ethnic Russian population. That’s the beginning of the civil war in Ukraine. In 2019, Zelenskyy, with no political experience, wins 70% of the vote only because he runs on a peace platform, willing to sign the Minsk Accords. As soon as he gets in there, the neocons led by Nuland pushed him into conflict with Russia. Obviously, Putin doesn’t like that the U.S. government is now running Ukraine, and he has a fear that the U.S. Navy may end up in Crimea. In 2014, Donbas and Lugansk vote 90% to 10% to join Russia, but Putin says, ‘No, I don’t want you. I want Ukraine to be a functioning state . . . ‘ In 2022, Putin sends 40,000 troops into a nation of 44 million people. Was it indeed an invasion, or did he just want Ukraine back at the negotiating table?”

That’s Kennedy Jr.’s take. And nearly all of the 9,000 comments on the video firmly back him, saying things like “Thanks, Rob, for speaking the truth!”

Not backing down, Kennedy Jr. continues to expose even more perilous aspects of this conflict. For example, on Jan. 7, on the X network (formerly Twitter, blocked in Russia), he posted, “Few people understand what the war in Ukraine means for big business. It’s not just the weapons and reconstruction contracts. Ukraine’s vast agricultural lands – among the most fertile in the world – are up for grabs, and American companies like BlackRock are at the front of the line.”

He reiterated this sentiment in February even more sharply. “BlackRock owns American Defense Manufacturers … BlackRock owns Ukraine’s agricultural lands … And who do you think got Biden’s December contract to rebuild Ukraine? BlackRock! Ukraine has to put all of its government-owned assets up for sale to pay back the loans.”

BlackRock is a multinational investment company that manages $9.425 trillion in assets (as per its financial reports for the first half of 2023). That’s more than the combined gross domestic product of Germany and France. Essentially, it’s the “obshchak”** of the wealthiest financial cartels worldwide, controlling not only land and defense manufacturers but also major media outlets including CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, and CNN.

BlackRock signed an agreement last May with the Ukrainian government to establish the “Ukraine Development Fund.” According to the agreement, the company is set to acquire all the country’s valuable assets, from fertile soil to power grids.

By the way, it’s not just Kennedy Jr. but also Trump supporters who are speaking out against the dominance of financial giants. Vivek Ramaswamy, an outspoken political novice (often mentioned as a potential vice president by Trump), recently referred to BlackRock, State Street and Vanguard as “the most powerful cartel in human history” and “a country you never voted for” (essentially, a state within a state). He pledged that if he became president, he’d cut off this “invisible fist of government.” Indeed, within the Biden administration, at least three individuals affiliated with BlackRock are known to wield influence over economic policy regarding Ukraine.

Furthermore, in February, while discussing BlackRock’s takeover of both the U.S. and Ukraine, Kennedy made another noteworthy comment. “They (meaning the loan sharks) have a strategy to make us – Americans, Republicans and Democrats – hate each other and be hostile towards one another . . . ” he said. Could you interpret this remark as an invitation for collaboration among like-minded conservatives? Yes, you could, especially given the ongoing rumors about Trump and Kennedy Jr. seeking common ground.

It’s quite likely that a new political force is emerging in the U.S., ready to confront the evil that a famous American once referred to, saying, “International financiers are behind all war . . . If we were to isolate them, all conflicts on Earth would come to an end.”***

**Translator’s note: “Obshchak” is a collective fund used primarily for mutual aid among like-minded convicts.

***Editor’s note: Although these remarks could not be independently verified in full nor the speaker identified, they are widely attributed to Henry Ford and in their entirety make antisemitic references.
