Joe in the Care of Dr. Jill Biden

Jill Biden, the wife of the U.S. president, has so far barricaded her husband after his disastrous performance against Donald Trump.

After the catastrophic debate against Donald Trump, Jill Biden congratulated her husband, the president, in the same way that a child might receive a “great job!” at the slightest scribble: “You answered all the questions, you are the best!” The 50 million Americans in front of their TVs did not get the same impression. The Democrat is now six points behind in the polls. Ouch, another blow for Joe.

All of Washington is now wondering what recommendations Dr. Jill Biden — with a doctorate in education — will give her favorite patient. The woman, who continued grading papers even when Joe was vice president, is more of a specialist in adolescence than old age, but the energy put into protecting her 81-year-old husband dented the previously impeccable image of a sunny, positive woman.

Wolflike Reflexes

The reason must surely lie in family history. The former model, introduced to Biden shortly after the death of his first wife and his daughter, has wolflike reflexes. Last month, she attended the trial of Biden’s problem son, Hunter.

In family debates, she had also given a frosty welcome to Kamala Harris as a fellow candidate in 2020, offended that the Californian had criticized her husband during the primary election — already a she-wolf.

The elegant blonde, who does not look her 73 years, has never had the political ambition of Hillary Clinton or the media-friendly aura of Michelle Obama. Wearing her black dress printed with “vote” last week in North Carolina, Jill showed that she was always more ready to work up a sweat than to throw in the towel.
