Trump Plays and Loses

The Zionist entity will not succeed in further normalizing relations.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s sweeping statements have markedly dampened the enthusiasm of many countries that thought the new administration would bring a more measured international policy. But it is especially in the Middle East that the shadow of the White House’s new occupant has greatly chilled the atmosphere, to the point of removing any prospect of normalizing relations between Saudi Arabia and the Jewish state, whose leaders openly indulge in arrogance and contempt for the entire international community.

Riyadh has quickly noted the stakes and limits of the American magnate’s new strategy and must manage his behavior while preserving its fundamental interests. By declaring that “the United States will take control of the Gaza Strip” and reaffirming that more than 2 million Palestinians must be deported to Egypt and Jordan, Trump has clashed with the international community, which has immediately rejected this approach.

With this policy, Trump is undermining the place and role of the United States in a region of the Middle East where Uncle Sam has had allies for decades who are undoubtedly motivated but, more importantly, are aware of the ins and outs of such an escalation with regard to their people. Trump has already lost all credibility regarding the United States’ theoretical position as negotiators in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, although since 1948, the U.S. has never ceased to show its unconditional support for the Zionist entity, whom the U.S. has constantly supported militarily and financially, to play the role of policeman for America’s benefit.

It is no accident that Trump proclaimed his new “vision” of Gaza’s future and very likely that of the West Bank, sitting next to Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose expansionist greed is on full display. The unusually swift reaction of Saudi Arabia, which has refused normalization with the Zionist entity until a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital is legitimately created, and that has insisted its position is and remains “unwavering,” is enough to cool the belligerent momentum of the American and Zionist leaders.

Moreover, Riyadh has said loud and clear that it rejects “any forced displacement of Palestinians” from their legitimate land and the American president should, much more than his Zionist ally, take into account how quickly the Saudis reacted, which people understand to be in response to the gravity of Trump and his Zionist accomplice’s statements.

Even though the Trump administration has since tried to dial back the serious tone of these remarks on the grounds that a transfer would be “temporary,” and how ironic that is, the fact remains that the outcry Trump has raised has not only spread across the Arab world but also across the entire international community, stunned by so much cynicism.
