When I Say I Am a Muslim, I Tremble!

Just as Condoleezza Rice and former U.S. President George W. Bush were pleased with their barbaric military attacks on Pakistan (instead of apologizing for them), so is U.S. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton happy and proud of America’s present attacks, which have targeted 36,000 innocent Pakistani civilians and 5,000 army officers. The real tragedy is that Pakistan’s current government is supporting these injustices and atrocities and continues to support and implement U.S. policies.

It is utterly shameful and despicable that on May 2, 2011, the United States launched an attack on Abbottabad and killed Osama bin Laden. How unfortunate that our entire country, including its army, was sleeping while America brazenly accomplished its mission. All of this is happening in our atomic Pakistan. The suicide attack on the Pakistani naval base is, too, a disgrace for Pakistan, because we do not know who carried out this attack. Former President General Pervez Musharraf had also implemented these “sound” and “stabilizing” U.S. policies even though he was a renowned man, a leader of an independent, atomic Islamic Republic. Currently, Pakistan is the only country in the world that is sacrificing all its goals and resources for the United States. In Lahore, Raymond Davis (if that is his real name), a U.S. spy, was pardoned, released and sent back to the United States after murdering three Pakistani civilians in public. Can someone also inform me under which international laws Aafia Siddiqui was prosecuted, put through a groundless trial and then punished? Aren’t all these incidents a grave attack on Pakistan’s dignity, stability and well-being? Did Allama Iqbal ever tell his Muslim people to accept slavery, oppression and bondage? If he had shared such sentiments, Pakistan would never have come into existence.

Majid Nazami has stated that, god-willing, one day we will be able to effectively use our atomic weapons to terrify and obliterate the alliance of these satanic countries. I mean to ask, where is al-Qaida? Where is the Taliban? The United States can see every ant in the oceans with its electronic cameras, yet it claims that it can’t see al-Qaida. If America thinks that it can get to our atomic weapons by disrespecting our government and making fools of our leaders, it should forget it. The world will be terrified when Pakistan one day rouses from foolish slumber. Allama Iqbal once wrote a beautiful couplet that I wish would inspire Muslim leaders and the Pakistani government to rule and govern with wisdom and intelligence. Allama Iqbal wrote:

When I say I am a Muslim, I tremble!

I know the hardships involved in worshiping one true God!
