Egyptian Aid to America

America gives us nothing; however, every day it takes colossal amounts of aid and assistance from us, drawn from our independence and supremacy, in exchange for a few pennies we falsely and deceptively give the name of “aid.” This is neither political analysis nor a piece of prose; rather, it is a series of documented facts according to dozens of official American reports. Some, but by no means all, of these facts come from the 2007 report on the American budget in general and assistance to Egypt in particular, and we publish a summary as follows:

Egypt is considered to be the USA’s most important ally.

Egyptian support of America’s various initiatives is absolutely vital, be they multi-lateral or bi-lateral, political or strategic, military or economic.

With regards to America’s War on Terror, Egypt is of assistance to America in several ways, whether through popular support, assistance in transporting troops, intelligence sharing, or economic and diplomatic co-operation.

Egypt’s vital role in the Middle East Peace Process has been reinforced during Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza.

Egypt’s assistance in operations to transport troops during the Iraq war proved fundamental to the success of the American invasion; this was in addition to its strenuous efforts after the war to rehabilitate Iraq, both regionally and globally, within the international community.

As for Egypt’s influence in the region, it is pivotal to American interests in the Arab and Islamic world, and in developing countries.

A stable Egypt, an Egypt which is considered America’s friend and ally, will continue to be of utmost importance to American security interests in the region.

The request of $1.3 billion in the budget to assist Egypt’s military will continue, in order to support an Egyptian army trained to help stabilize the Middle East and North Africa. It is intended that this will result in increasing mutual co-operation with American forces.

Military assistance to Egypt will propel American foreign policy goals to the forefront of the region.

And it qualifies the Egyptian Armed Forces to participate as allies in military operations throughout the world.

American assistance to Egypt facilitates American use of the Suez Canal, which is of maximum importance to American forces in southwest Asia.

Egyptian support of operations of global peace and the War on Terror has been proved repeatedly, along with the importance of this assistance.

$1.2 million was designated for international military training and education for tactical development of the Egyptian military. These allocations make it possible for Egypt to request technical and specialist education in this field. These courses endeavor to reinforce mutual co-operation on both sides, and to serve American interests in the region.

This budget prescribes the continuation of training Egyptians in various means of fighting terrorism, training Egyptian delegates to fight money-laundering and financing specialist courses in fighting terrorism.

Those courses will assist the support of institutions and policies relating to strategic laws controlling trade.

$455 million has been earmarked for reform programs specifically for Egypt; these reforms will contribute to an increase in American exports, and open new areas for American trade and investment.

From this report and others, we are made aware that the issue is not how to renounce American aid, nor how to procure alternatives to it; rather, the real issue, away from American dishonesty, is how to immediately stop supporting and serving American policies which are directly opposed to our own national interests and security.
