America Knows Good and Well Who the Real Criminals Are in Syria

There are reports in the media that Russia presented evidence before the United Nations that the Syrian opposition has used chemical weapons. This information was also passed on to the Americans, who responded in the voice of Jen Psaki, an official spokesperson for the U.S. State Department. “I understand we just received the report this morning. We’ll of course need time to review it,” she said, according to the ITAR-TASS news service.

Commenting on this latest development in the Syrian crisis is Anatoly Wasserman.

Striking the Enemy Where He Lives

Naturally, the U.S. doesn’t see any reason to stop providing the hired bandits in Syria with weapons, because, at least from my point of view, it was the Americans who organized their force in the first place. What I mean to say is that the money is coming from the Arab oil tycoons, who are joined at the hip with the U.S. because the Americans have caused world oil prices to skyrocket by refusing to extract oil on its own territory. It’s not farfetched to say that without these American “sanctions,” these oil tycoons would never have opened their pocketbooks. No amount of evidence showing what these hired bandits are guilty of will change the Americans’ point of view because the Americans already know good and well who is committing the real crimes in Syria. No new information is going to change that.

The rules in any political game are simple: the quickest way to victory is to strike the enemy where he lives. If one simply stands in one place in the hopes that his enemies will leave him alone, he’ll sooner or later be knocked off his feet. What would happen if similar hired bandits appeared in Russia? Such a thing already happened in the 1990s, when these very same mercenaries were riding roughshod over the North Caucasus. In fact, the ringleader and main financer of these bandits was Ibn al-Khattab, who was Saudi Arabian through and through.

The Science of Brainwashing Has Come a Long Way

Will Assad succeed in holding onto power? If the situation in the Arab world depended only on the Arabs, then yes, he would. Oil money can indeed buy mercenaries, but it’s a shame to die in the name of money. These bandits will only fight in earnest up to the point that their chances of being killed stop being comparatively insignificant. And since the Syrian army has now gone on the offensive and started to combat the rebels, they’ll probably decide pretty quickly that it’s no longer worth the risk.

It’s also true that not only hired mercenaries but also thoroughly brainwashed terrorists can be used in Syria. The science of brainwashing has come a long way, and there are more than enough Arab petrodollars to pay for the services of brainwashing experts. This threat cannot be neutralized without action on the part of the Americans, because we’re talking about terrorists here, and only the Americans have the resources to police the entire world. These resources allow them to comb the entire world in search of these brainwashing experts. Unfortunately, so long as the Americans desire to sow the seeds of unrest the world over, there is no end in sight to the war in Syria.
