Obama Does Not Deserve the Nobel Peace Prize

Supposedly, everyone knows of U.S. President Barack Obama’s winning of the Nobel Peace Prize. Apparently, luck is on this man’s side! The eloquence of Obama, that eminent lawyer, played a great role in winning this award as well. When he visited Egypt, everyone regarded him as the long-awaited savior. Arabs believed that he came after Bush to solve Palestine’s problems, shut down the detention camp at Guantanamo Bay and foster world peace and stability. Analysts all over the world examined each and every word he mouthed. But what a disappointment! All these hopes turned out to be mere words and intentions.

We were all stunned: How can a president at this early stage of his term win this prize? What contributions had Obama made so far to the peace process in the Middle East or to the region in general? Although Obama was our sincere hero, Palestine is still occupied and still Israel enjoys slaughtering oppressed Palestinians and desecrating the Al Aqsa Mosque. Obama promised to bring the Israeli settlements to an end. Yet, settlements have blatantly increased more than ever until they have almost encircled the entire West Bank. Does Obama see how these activities affect the region?

American forces are still in Afghanistan, wreaking havoc and bringing about peace the “American” way. Why? Because America believes it has the right to do whatever it desires as long as it is the strongest nation in the world.

So, America and its Zionist-oriented policies will stay the same even with successive presidents. It is a well-known play, performed differently, with new actors and directors to attain the same scenario and goals.

And because Obama showed up with a supportive attitude towards Arabs and Islam, Israel was scared stiff. So it thought of painting him as a hero by granting him a prize. However, this step could lead to undesirable consequences. Perhaps we can defeat the Zionist conspiracy against the Arab candidate in the UNESCO elections. It is a power play among regional blocs in which America had a clear role. Yet, things should be different when it comes to one of the most sublime prizes, the Nobel Peace Prize, which is subject to considerably high standards.

So what did Obama do during these first nine months to deserve the Nobel Peace Prize? Did he effectively mediate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, for example? It is well known that a list of candidates is made six months before winners are declared. As such, Obama was made the “winner” while his term was still two months old.

Finally, Zionist players failed to play this dirty game perfectly. However, there will be many other attempts as Obama believes that flowery words speak louder than deeds. This is the policy Obama is apparently trying to adopt until he wraps up his term. Don’t count on another Nobel, Obama!
