In a suicide attack outside Mingora’s district court, seventeen people died and sixty people were injured. It happened on Sayed-o-Shareef Road in Mingora, near the district court’s check post, where government offices and the security forces’ headquarters are located. A suicide bomber stepped out of a rickshaw and, before going inside and being searched, blew himself up, causing the terrible deaths and injuries.
In one day alone, nine bombs exploded as terrorists and enemies of Pakistan made Mingora the target of their savagery. They sent the message that they will continue to attack Pakistan. Simultaneously, those responsible for our security in the government are repeating the same old statements about how our determination will not fail, the terrorists will not win and we condemn these acts of terrorism. The question is, though, when will terrorism die down? When will these politicians’ empty promises become action? The people have grown tired of burying their loved ones in this senseless war. Now, if government officeholders and politicians have love for the people of Pakistan and want to protect the country from the conspiracies of our enemies, they will have to free themselves and the country from the American war.
For the past eight years, Pakistan has consistently and blindly followed America’s orders in the war against terrorism. Pakistan has become a target of terrorism while fighting America’s war, and the wounds being inflicted upon Pakistan will remain fresh for centuries. It is a fact that the financial and human losses for Pakistan have been greater than those of any other coalition partner. According to Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Pakistan lost $35 billion last year. In return, America has only promised aid. If America gave Pakistan aid in the past, then that money is now in the personal bank accounts of certain people who were in power during the dictatorship of Musharraf.
Lately, it has become general knowledge among the people of Pakistan that, as in the Musharraf era, officials of the government are only interested in gaining American dollars and power. Our government officials do not notice that not only has this war caused Pakistan human and financial losses but also since Pakistan is an American ally in this war and distracted by it, India has taken steps to conquer Kashmir. On one hand, India, in its war over water, is preventing Pakistan from accessing this resource so that the country will be barren. India has also told Pakistan to adjust to this future inaccessibility to water. India has even attempted to break up the Pakistani nation. From Baluchistan to Waziristan, they have set up a web of conspiracies while their agents are busy spreading terrorism and engaging in terrorism-related activities.
What should have happened was that when America and the global community witnessed Pakistan’s sacrifices in this war, they should have increased economic aid and offered to help solve the issue of Kashmir, as well as the other problems that Pakistan faces. America asked Pakistan to make many sacrifices, but when the time came to repay Pakistan, America instead rewarded India. Not only did America enact the United States–India Nuclear Cooperation Approval and Nonproliferation Enhancement Act, but the Americans gave India many opportunities to use Afghanistan to conspire against Pakistan. Right under America’s nose in Afghanistan, India is plotting against Pakistan. The Americans are not only silent on this issue, but they defend India when Pakistan protests. On the other hand, in order to compete with the Pakistan–China relationship, America is using every offensive tactic to make India the regional powerhouse. America is only pretending to be Pakistan’s ally, when in reality it is supporting the agendas of Pakistan’s enemies and seeking to one day take control of Pakistan’s nuclear program. Like the East India Company, America is buying properties in Pakistani cities, claiming that these areas will be for expanding the number of embassies in Pakistani cities. In light of these actions, where do our politicians and government leaders see friendship? America is acting like a complete enemy while pretending to be a friend. Despite this, why are we taking part in the U.S.-created war against terrorism and bringing about the conditions for our own demise? Now we have nothing left. The life of the nation is on the brink of disaster. India’s attempts to end Pakistani agriculture are clear. Every day, people in Pakistani cities bury their loved ones, and yet, even now the time for Pakistan to separate itself from this useless American war and secure its future has yet to come.
It is too late for further damning statements and bold proclamations to prevent the conspiracies of terrorism and our enemies. Now politicians and government leaders must make an important decision. That decision is to openly declare our disagreement with America’s so-called war on terrorism, which is only in the interests of the USA. We will have to face the temporary difficulties that will result from such a decision, but if our leaders can make such a decision, then we can say, in good faith, that our nation is ready to endure any difficulty with strength.
The truth of America’s war on terror has become clear to the entire world, and certain countries have declared that they are not willing to be involved in this war. At the moment, we need the power to strengthen our relationship with China and Russia. Russia and China both dislike the tendency of America to become involved in the affairs of others and are completely unwilling to take part in America’s conspiracy to destroy any chance for peace in the world. China and Russia are our neighbors. America, from across the seven seas, is spreading unrest in our neighborhood. If the countries in this region show a united front, not only will America be unsuccessful, but our region will also gain peace and prosperity.
