The Stars Are Against Him

The stars have aligned against Barack Obama since Sept. 12 after the assassination of Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Venus’s position in relation to Uranus has caused conflict for the president. Attackers assassinated a key Libyan ambassador, Chris Stevens, who spoke Arabic, French and other local languages. Diplomat Sean Smith was also assassinated. These men were pivotal during Gadhafi’s fall in coordinating the actions of divided opposition forces. Both of these functionaries died in their posts, in front of danger.

Al-Qaida, the opposition force Gadhafi most feared, was blamed for his assassination, which was premeditated and executed with cold efficiency.

Politics is relentless everywhere; the bodies of the four men who were brutally assassinated hadn’t even arrived in America before President Obama’s opponent Mitt Romney questioned the events surrounding the assassinations.

Hillary Clinton expressed her surprise at the assassinations. The diplomats had helped the Libyans, and the thanks they received was Muslim protesters shouting “Obama; we are all Osama,” in a clear reference to their leader killed in Pakistan.

The protestors didn’t kill Stevens when he was by their sides helping them with military operations against a regime they considered oppressive; they waited for the first opportunity that presented itself. The opportunity came in the form of a controversial film making fun of the Prophet Mohammed, a film that the US government is not responsible for.

On one occasion I was in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. There was a particular exhibition the exhibitors considered to be profane religious art. There was a warning for believers concerning the sensitive nature of the exhibition and, because I disagreed with the portrayal of Jesus Christ and his apostles, I did not visit the exhibition.

The recent actions of the followers of the Quran, actions characterized as the “Arab Spring,” are now seen by some Westerners, especially British, Germans, Israelis, and Christians, as more of a dying winter. The protesters burned American and Israeli flags. Perhaps this is why Obama didn’t want to welcome Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is in the United States claiming the allies have different agendas.

Netanyahu’s agenda demands, despite the Arab protests, a red line must be drawn in the Middle East on the issue of Iran’s nuclear program. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard is fighting on the side of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and the Jews fear that when Iran has a nuclear arsenal, the country will fulfill its promise to destroy Israel.

The world’s most powerful man is at a crossroads. Muslim protests spread, and Google refuses to take down the movie. Obama has identified the director and actors, but his constitution based on freedom of religion and speech prevents him from acting in a severe manner. With his help what is called the “Arab Spring” became the “Arab Winter” with the ascent of the Muslim Brotherhood to power, a group which doesn’t hesitate to kill former allies.

For these new friends, Obama abandoned his old ally, Israel. This abandonment not being diplomatically welcomed shows him that he can act alone; it would be better to act as a team.
