Who Will Save America?

The reasons that changed American history and led the first black to be president are many: the competence of Barak Obama, the imprudent policies of Bush's administration, and McCain's failure to choose a vice president, in addition to well-timed luck.

Undoubtedly, Obama took the helms of a very successful presidential campaign for 20 months, considering that he was not fighting to be a mayor, but for the presidency of the USA. He started from zero and played to the tune of the opposing party. And indeed, he was not very well known, but it was the poor who raised roughly 700 million dollars, more than what the Republican millionaires bestowed upon McCain. And every dollar given to Obama meant a vote.

However, this did not suffice, even with Bush's failure in Iraq and Afghanistan and his fading popularity. John McCain, the Republican candidate, was a strong opponent with wisdom and conventional bottom lines until he chose Sarah Palin for the vice presidency (some Republicans revealed that she believed Africa was a country!).

Only then the tides turned and McCain's shares began to stagger while Obama's went up. But there was still hesitation until September 15th, 45 days before the elections. Then the dust under the carpet of Bush's administration was found.

The titanic American financial structure crashed with the bankruptcy of many huge banks and financial institutions, along with the collapse of the real estate market and stock exchange. It became crystal clear that the current administration thrust America and the whole world into a dark tunnel.

And now the nagging question is no longer should America elect a black president, but will he be the one to save the world's superpower, even if he has African roots?
