  1. President Barak Obama has promised Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian president, that he will push the US Senate to ratify START – the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, this month. This would reduce the limit on strategic warheads in both The US and Russia and set up procedures to inspect each other’s arsenals to verify compliance.

    In the meantime, Israel, who has yet to admit to possessing any nuclear weapons but is estimated to have secretly amassed an arsenal of up to 450 nuclear warheads, carries on enlarging that arsenal of WMD without any restriction whatsoever.

    It does not take much to appreciate the total idiocy of this policy and the danger to world peace.
