The feeling is that Obama can, but he is going to need more time. The current president of the United States has presented his candidacy for reelection as the Democratic candidate for 2012.

He came to power with his slogan announcing himself the man of change and with a convincing and stimulating rhetoric with which he persuaded the American public until he fully convinced them that to want to is to be able to. Today, most of the facts are denied; despite his efforts he has failed to avoid an unemployment rate of over 9 percent or to remove Guantanamo. And, as additional ballast, he has engaged in a new war in Libya.

The "Yes, we can" that moved the foundations of the American conscience, that flooded the hope of its citizens, now seems diluted because no one then, in full euphoria, contemplated the possibility that the change would not be achieved rapidly.

Obama therefore needs more time, and the continuation of his project of socio-political conversion will depend largely on the patience that the American public shows.
