America Needs To Warn India on Border Disputes
U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has warned China to not follow in the footsteps of Russia in the matter of border disputes with its neighbors.
Border disputes between China and India have been continuing for a long time; border clashes have even taken place between them on account of these disputes. Arunachal Pradesh province, Aksai Chin, located in the northern area of Kashmir, and Sinkiang are all causes of border disputes between China and India. The U.S. should refrain from interfering in these issues. If America comes across seven seas to participate in the affairs of South Asian countries, then this will create problems for America itself.
Why doesn't America issue a warning to India, which has been forcibly occupying Kashmir for 65 years by means of 600,000 troops? India is in conflict with Pakistan over Kashmir. In the same way, India's disputes with Bangladesh over 140 acres of a river island and with Nepal over Kalapani are not hidden from anyone.
Instead of supporting India by placing the blame on China, the U.S. should try to not look away from facts. It is India that has initiated the biggest number of border disputes in South Asia. Thus, instead of making India the “headman” of the region, the U.S. should hold it accountable, so that peace may be established in the region.
