An American Artist Collects 530 messages for Obama

“Help for the homeless, stop oil dependency, enough of the war in Iraq,” Sheryl Oring would want to give these suggestions to the president-elect.

“Help for the homeless of America,” “Stop oil dependency,” “Enough of the war in Iraq.”

It is this standard of the other 500 messages for President-elect Barack Obama collected by an American artist all over the country who would now like to give these suggestions to the individual concerned. Sheryl Oring, with an old-style typewriter and
1960s secretary’s outfit, has collected 530 testimonials on the road and across the country from American citizens of every social background addressed to the President-elect Barack Obama.

“Best wishes,” “congratulations,” hopes that now Oring has the intention to send to Obama in the hope that some are at least read. “I know that it is difficult to meet the President-elect; however, I want to assure that somehow these messages are at least read,” explained an artist. For the moment, more than 300 of these “finds” were displayed last week at the McCormick Freedom Museum of Chicago. It is hoped that this is not their permanent seat.
