U.S. occupying forces today committed a new crime, to be added to their daily crime records towards Iraq and its people.

The occupying forces opened fire at citizens demonstrating for the release of the Iraqi Arabic journalist Muntathar Al Zaidi.

Eyewitnesses in Al Fallujah said that U.S. forces shot a student in Al Anbar University in an attempt to disperse the demonstration of Al Anbar University students.

Jasim Muhammad, one of the students, said that the demonstration of law college students was peaceful. They were demanding his release. He added that the U.S. forces raided Al Anbar campus in Al Fallujah city and opened dense fire to disperse the demonstration, one of the students got shot.

Muhammad said there were 400 demonstrating students--they carried the Iraqi flag, and signs supporting media freedom. They were all dispersed by U.S. military force. Iraqi government police came later to surround Al Anbar University campus in Al Fallujah.

A medical source in Al Anbar hospital stated that the hospital received an injured student, Zaid Mahmoud, with a U.S. bullet in one of his legs.
