Undoubtedly, the war unleashed by Israel upon the Palestinian people in Gaza a couple of weeks ago was manufactured by the American administration under the leadership of George W. Bush, who is preparing to leave the White House. The goal is to terminate the Islamic resistance (Hamas), and accompanying that to kill innocent women, children, and elderly, destroy the region’s houses, and bomb mosques, churches, nursing homes, schools, universities, and other densely populated areas.
Indeed, Bush agreed to Israel’s attack on Gaza with utter disregard and lack of consideration, paying no heed to the international community’s appeals and cries to stop the killing. This is clearly a repetition of Bush’s position regarding Israeli aggression against Lebanon in July 2006, when Bush asked Israel to continue the unceasing bombing on Lebanon, although at the time Israel was prepared to hold their fire. Here was the President of America acting as the main reason for Israel’s continued bombing of Lebanon. So we realize that the U.S. is also standing behind the Israeli attack on Gaza, even working to bolster Israel with the necessary weapons for this war – planes, tanks, armored cars, war ships, and so forth.
As for the Palestinian people, whom Israel intends to consider as a 4th world power, they have nothing but feeble rifles and rockets more like fireworks, unlike the rockets used by Hezbollah’s soldiers in their war with Israel. As a natural consequence of this inequality between the opponents – Israeli attackers and Palestinians being attacked – in just 15 days of fighting nearly 850 Palestinians have been martyred, including children, students, infants, and elderly people, and about 3200 have been injured.
The American (Republican) administration under Bush, breathing its last before handing the reins of power over to the Democrats led by Barack Obama in one week, is exercising its last act of political swindling in the Middle East. They want to put a final stop to the Hamas movement before leaving the White House. As a parting gift to the Jews inside and outside America, he is expressing his complete loyalty to Israel by removing the Hamas movement from Israel’s path. This will clear the way for Israel’s aggressive plans in Gaza and the rest of the occupied and unoccupied Palestinian lands without any real resistance, given that the Fatah movement in power now has chosen to open negotiations with the Israeli side, and no one but Hamas and a few other Palestinian factions still consider resistance the only path to reclaim Palestinian rights that have been denied for decades.
We are following what is going on in Gaza, and we feel pain for the Arab condition. With the repeated spectacle of an Israeli existence which comes from attacking neighboring Arab lands time and again, and with regret for every time Israel is hostile to an Arab country, we see that the Arab schisms widens. The gap between Arab nations increases until the Arab ability has become exhausted. An Arab assembly should convene and attempt to stand up in the face of Israeli aggression upon Gaza with a joint Arab resolution. But the Arabs were content with the meeting of foreign ministers at the Arab University in Cairo, who begged – as usual – the Security Council, which will never abandon Israel for even one day and which never assists the Arabs.
Amazing that there is only outrage when Israel defends itself. Where is your outrage over the suicide bombers who have killed thousands of innocents, including pleanty of Muslims? Where is your outrage at beheadings? Where was your outrage over the destruction of Buddhist statues? The deaths in Gaza are a direct result of the actions of Hamas.
