Expulsion of Zelaya

The right-winged militants responsible for the coup d’état against President Manuel Zelaya in Honduras have been advancing. It represents a typical strategy used by the CIA.

The U.S. penetration into our lands can be outlined from the middle of the nineteenth century. Whether it was performed in a hidden or publicly disclosed way, the U.S. has always intervened in our matters and controlled our economies.

This is a political and ideological problem, where the imperial hegemony designs a form to dismantle any local or indigenous progress lead by the reforms in Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Cuba and also in Argentina and Brazil.

The success of this strategy is vital for the interests of the empire. Under the excuse of the “civility” mantle are hidden the darkest interests of the landlords, clergy and the right-winged Honduran army.

One of the continent’s poorest countries has been selected to “teach” this form of coup d’état. “I perform the coup d’état, abduct and expel the constitutional president, establish a dictatorship, abolish all human rights, suspend the guarantees provided by the Constitution, impose a curfew, attack the civil population,” and later I charge as guilty someone else, someone that has robbed, wasted, violated laws and committed many more crimes that no one believes.

The attitude of the American administration concerning Honduras infuriates, but doesn’t surprise us. Some forget the importance of the Honduran territory for imperial ambitions and its war against El Salvador and the Sandinista National Liberation Front in Nicaragua. The territory was utilized as a beach bag. The Palmerola military base, or Soto Cano, has always been used for U.S. military operations against Central American revolutionaries.

The Honduran militants, 14 days after performing the coup d’état, are attacking Telesur, the one source of light in the pool of informative darkness for the Honduran civilians. Of course, this coup d’état could not be the same without the attacks on the VTV reporters who have been trying to reveal the truth. Aggression and harassment have been prevalent since the beginning. The world is waiting on a coherent answer from Obama. Silence! The Honduran citizens demand the return of their president!
