The Circle from Obama to Ahmadinejad

At first glance, it looks like American President Barack Obama has created a policy to corner his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and stop his quest to make the Middle Eastern country a nuclear power.

This past week, Obama summoned to Washington representatives of the countries that have nuclear power or advanced projects in this regard in order to propose a new era of atomic weapons, but above all, to prevent terrorist organizations from gaining access to them.

The United States is collecting all the enriched uranium that has been sold to other countries for safekeeping in North America.

In Prague, Obama signed an agreement with Russia to reduce by a third the nuclear arsenal of both countries.

The international belief is that al-Qaida, the mega-terrorist group of the world, has searched relentlessly for the past two decades for a way to obtain enriched uranium to build “a dirty bomb,” which is as deadly as a clean bomb.

Obama’s move is a substantial departure from the preemptive strike that George W. Bush authorized following the attacks on the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001.

Notice that Obama does not threaten anyone. Only a few officials or spokespersons mention that the military option is not excluded if Iran continues to build atomic weapons.

The United States and European powers, with Germany at the helm, are determined to take the necessary steps to prevent Ahmadinejad, who denies the Holocaust and has vowed to destroy Israel, from gaining possession of the weapon with which to fulfill his threats.

Obama’s strategy is to unite those who have nuclear responsibility, like Pakistan and India, in a deal that closes any and all possibilities for terrorist threats.

Iran claims the right to peaceful nuclear development, which all the major powers recognize. They are wary, however, of the true intentions of that country due to its commitment to Hezbollah, Hamas and other organizations that Europeans and Americans consider terrorists, but mainly because it refuses to recognize Israel.

One factor that has not escaped the Obama administration’s or the Europeans’ attention is that Iran, in recent years, has developed a missile industry, with rockets capable of reaching the United States. This is how hysteria arises.

Bush invaded Iraq preemptively, accusing Saddam Hussein of having weapons of mass destruction, which never have materialized.

Obama will not do the same, as it is not in his nature. He will utilize all his diplomatic resources and his intelligence to stop the insane nuclear arms race of the ayatollahs of Iran until there is some evidence that Iran has taken the final step to build an atomic weapon. It seems only then that the so-called allies of Europe will mobilize.

If the arrogant Iranians decide to build atomic bombs, Obama will not have any alternative but to act logically as the president of the United States. Either that or he resigns.

When the announcement of the construction of the Iranian atomic bomb comes, you should begin to collect your belongings and enact contingency plans.

Perhaps we should start to think, then, about something like Armageddon, with all its bitter and deadly consequences.

The irony of the situation is that the man of change could end his presidency with the worst war of this century. Instead of reaping the peace, we would be in the rugged arms of annihilation.

Nobody, neither you nor me, would aspire to such craziness.

Let’s wait and see how much the circle from Obama to Ahmadinejad stretches.

Watch out.
