Between Santos and Netanyahu

Purchase of votes, threats against voters and many other fraud maneuvers in addition to the abstention of nearly half the population. All of these elements contributed to last Sunday’s electoral victory for Juan Manuel Santos. Santos’ only mission constitutes finalizing the conversion of Colombia into the Israel of America.

Beyond the flawed electoral process that will culminate in its second round on June 30 when Juan Manuel Santos runs against Antanas Mockus, lies the fact that the hegemonic power bets on the continuity of Alvaro Uribe Velez’s management. Such a bet is grounded in the fact that Uribe aims to continue utilizing the Colombian territory as a stage for the preparation of military and intelligence actions. He wants to extend the usage of military bases and political dominion.

Juan Manuel Santos, like Uribe, is a son of the oligarchic groups that, at the end of the 1980s, unleashed a slaughter of revolutionaries during which around five thousand militants of the Patriotic Union (a political party) were killed.

In the past, the former defense minister directed the reinforcement of military and intelligence cooperation between Israel and Colombia.

Between 2007 and 2008, Santos visited Israel on multiple occasions and approved various agreements. This relationship has grown under the auspices of the U.S. Thus, during the Colombian army’s incursion into Ecuadorian territory in March of 2008, Israel’s technology and logistics support were utilized.

In his campaign, Santos said he was proud of having ordered the attack, which caused Raul Reyes’ death. Raul Reyes was the commander of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia; the attack caused 23 other casualties. Santos has also stated that he would be willing to order similar military actions when he considers them necessary.

Isn’t this the profile of a future aggressor, sellout and war-mongering governor?

Santos’ attitude is similar to that of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli fundamentalist, whose government just launched a military operation against civilians that were transporting humanitarian aid to Gaza. The operation caused 14 deaths.

In the face of this unspeakable action, which occurred the last weekend, the U.S. government, like that of Canada (where Netanyahu was visiting), says that it is trying to understand what happened and laments the death of these victims.

The U.S. government did not issue a condemnation! In 2008, the Bush administration similarly failed to condemn the incursion of the Colombian army into Ecuador. However, Obama’s tepid reaction to the crime committed by Netanyahu and his people paints a picture of his entire administration.

Therefore, it is not strange that the U.S. continues to push Santos along until he arrives at the Casa de Narino… and that the U.S. plans “to understand” the actions he will initiate against neighbors like Ecuador and Venezuela… actions that our people will repudiate without hesitation…
