Obama: Christian or Muslim?

Some American media outlets are discussing this issue: Is Obama Christian or Muslim? Because, in America, the choice of religious identity tends to be conservative. However, the subject of the president is being dropped without examining, dealing with or studying this political trend and national political views. For example, the origin of religious identity in Arab nations and the Islamic world after the weakening of nationalist identity and the spread of religious identity to replace it: Muslim, Coptic, Sunni and Shiite. Also, the demand for Israel’s surrender as a Jewish nation to legal presentation in the midst of an organization and movement that seek a national religion.

Obama goes to pray at church with his family to show that he is a Christian. Others think that his name Hussein, his African origin and the period of his youth spent in Indonesia show that he is Muslim. Also, his speech at the University of Cairo showed his increasing respect for Islam and the Muslim world, and began with the greeting Salaam Alaykum. In addition, he welcomed Arab and Islamic communities at the White House, and he has supported religious freedom.

Those who “accuse” him of following Islam say that he sympathizes with Muslims and that he pressures Israel to stop settlement, lift the siege on Gaza and help with the foundation of the Palestinian state that has been impeded since June 4, 1967, and thus help the Palestinian people and sympathize with them. They are liquidating the Palestinian cause day after day, along with its population of Muslims and Christians. The Jews took over Jerusalem and the Church of the Resurrection, and besieged Bethlehem. If Obama is a Muslim, what about his position on the aggression toward Iraq and the war in Afghanistan, and the killing of innocent civilians, women, children and the elderly? Muslims and Christians do not approve of violence; rather, they preserve life. If he is a believer in the principles of the American Republic, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, then how can he support the Jewish nation in its campaign? If he criticizes Islamic religious systems in Sudan and Somalia and the Islamic fundamentalist movements, pays tribute to secularism, and belongs to the Western tradition of separation of church and state, how can he support the Jewish state as an ethnically Jewish nation and at the same time spread democracy to the Arab countries in the Middle East?

Although, belonging to the traditions of several nationalities and religions, he sees the demolition of Palestinian homes every day and Palestinians expelled from their land. How can he support America? Given that America returned Guantanamo detainees to Arab countries with oppressive regimes, what does it matter whether America’s president is Christian or Muslim?

Christ preached love for one’s neighbor, but Obama still opposes Chavez, Castro and all the independent systems in Latin America. He confronts the Iranian regime on the pretext of possessing weapons of mass destruction, although Israel owns some.

If people are Muslims based on deeds rather than words, then he is not a Muslim. Christians follow Christ and the doctrine of loving one’s neighbor, supporting the weak, helping the needy, nursing the sick. There are millions of the needy in Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan. Christianity also supports a policy of peace rather than aggression. Obama’s empire is like a new Roman Empire rather than seeming Christian. His era is the era of the martyrs and the throwing of Christians to the lions.

This mess is our fault for throwing the ball into Obama’s court and giving up our responsibility to him. He has fed us with aid, has saved us with visits and alliances, and protected us with words and promises of approaching salvation. We Muslims are combatants or submissive newcomers to the elevation of victory. We are the successors, we search for the caliphate and the inheritance of power, just as the Abbasid caliph of Baghdad did before the fall at the hands of the Tatars in the middle of the seventh century A.D., in 652 A.D., as did the caliph in Istanbul before the fall of the caliphate at the end of the first quarter of the 20th century, in 1923 A.D.

We imagine that Obama has everything: presidency, a component of the American system, along with both houses of Congress, the Constitution, the judiciary in the public sector and pressure groups, as well as capital, business owners, and hatred hidden deep in the white man and the history of the United States, which is based on the eradication of an entire people from their land and putting it in reserves for tourism and the arts. What Israel is doing with regard to the policy of deportation of the Palestinians is not foreign, culturally or politically, from Western history or the American people.

We die as he has organized, and we deal with him as we imagine him: as a magical leader whose orders are obeyed in the East and the West, by socialists or capitalists. There will be no reconciliation or negotiation; no recognition of resistance, readiness and war; reconciliation and recognition of the treaty of peace and normalization; and the land is still occupied and demilitarized. His frequent visits, multiple interviews and graduated statements here and there do not change the facts. The ongoing occupation and settlement eat up the land, piece by piece, until there is something that can be negotiated.

He can accept Israeli pressure or follow his desires. He is preparing to draft the interim Palestinian state without borders physically or in time. One third next to Israel will be swallowed by the large settlement blocs. In the middle third, Palestinians live under the “civilian peacekeepers,” as Israel sees it. A third next to the Jordan River is under the protection of the occupying Israeli national security forces. I believe Israel is here to stay. The treaty also limits the powers of the Israeli air force, Israel’s long arm and its defense, from Morocco to Pakistan. This first taming is accompanied by the creation of a new Middle East in the face of Iran, and in the commonwealth of new development plans, new oil revenues, Arab labor rather than legal or illegal migrant workers and Israeli speeches. So ends the story of the Arabs, as the story of the caliphate ended.

He pretends to lift the siege on Gaza and the cause of Palestine, Western Christian and Muslim immigrants. Chavez, who is a Christian, supports the Arabs. Israel is recognized, and according to the peace treaty, they still occupy Muslim land. What is the difference if the the American president is a Christian or a Muslim? If he continues his course, will there be only one vision, with blood running everywhere, of both Muslims and Christians? Also, the language of sectarianism prevails in the region, and ethnic identity prevails among people and systems. Religion becomes a substitute for policy, meant to throw dust in our eyes, and makes permanent legislation on temporary interests. It is behind the disappearances and controls everything. The seduction continued to fail with Arabs and Muslims. The best nation of people are begging and crying out for help and salvation.

  1. The story is not focused Obama’s ancestors might be Muslims but only in name. There is much ado about Obama’s religious credentials. He looks and lives like American Christians. Islam respects both Judaism and Christianity. In fact the Quran preserves the full text of Torah, a Book called: Injeel” that was bestowed to Jesus Christ and is no more available, as well as the combined wisdom of all past Godly religions and saints and sages. Obama’s wife and children are Christians and that should end this controversy. Now let us look at the element of Israel and the tragedy of Palestinians and the backwardness of the Arabs. First of all, one might ask the Rabbis about Israel’s identity. The Rabbis say Israel’s founding father denied and rejected God’s allegiance to the creation of Israel. Jewish history abounds in its unending iniquities and misfortunes. But here in the case of Israel, it has exceeded all limits. Israel without faith in God is a Gentile in the holy land of God. There is nothing Jewish about Israel. Judaism has still fresh memories of the Holocaust. There is hovering a much worse threat over Israel for the fraud that Israel is with Judaism. What s more worrisome is the guilt of America? Bush gave a free hand to Sharon and Sharon openly boasted that Jews are ruling in America. One fears that unless both Israel and America turn towards God and learn how to repent to Him and then to make amends with the Palestinians, both may be doomed. One simply needs to read Jewish history. Palestine is a provincial territory. It never in its entire history has been a country. It is no land of milk and honey. Sooner rather than later Middle East will get its transition into a resurgence with modern democracy replacing the out dated and rotten royalties and autocracies. Both Palestinians and the peacenik Jews will assimilate into Middle East’s vastness. The Arabs need a band of Young Turks with their battle cry that in democracy sovereignty belongs to the people. Even the Israelis would kick out the Zionists.
