The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Almazbek Atanbaev, held a meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Tatiana Gfoeller, in connection with the completion of her diplomatic mission to the country.

As the government informed the media, Atambaev greeted the ambassador warmly and wished her well for the upcoming holiday on March 8 — International Women’s Day.

“I shall not hide that there were different situations in our joint activity. There were times when we acted very rigidly and uncompromisingly. But in spite of various circumstances, you always worked courageously and essentially. In general, our cooperation with the U.S. embassy during your time was very fruitful,”* he emphasized.

In turn, the ambassador noted that the active efforts of the current government draw approval and support. She wished the country a lot of success in carrying out democratic reforms throughout society.

“I wish the new coalition government of Kyrgyzstan success in stabilizing the national economy and in its further progress. Kyrgyz citizens, who are open and hospitable people, deserve a good life. I assume that my professional experience in Kyrgyzstan will contribute very positively in my new post as advisor to the Secretary of Defense,”* said Тatiana Gfoeller.

The prime minister wished the ambassador good luck on new post. “I hope that you will have kind memories of Kyrgyzstan and the Kyrgyz people,”* concluded Almazbek Atanbaev.
