Syria today faces chaos among its people and leadership. It is the result of concerted efforts by the same Zionist-American clique that inspired the extreme right-wing hawks in the administration of former U.S. President George W. Bush, and it continues to pursue its malign policies in a desperate attempt to enlist the new American administration in its plot to sow chaos.
As it did with its unjust war on Iraq, it aims to strike against an Arab nation and divide it into competing factions in order to rearrange it in line with its neo-colonialist agenda, which calls for the establishment of a pro-Israeli and anti-Arab nationalist paradigm in the so-called Middle East. We have already witnessed the collapse of similar plots for more than four years, or, more accurately, since the stunning victory in July 2006 of the Lebanese resistance over the Zionist army, which was perceived by many as invincible. We hoped that Israel and its masters in the West would get the message, but the demons of American politics and their puppets in the region have instead spared no effort to change the political map of the Middle East yet again by striking against Syria from within.
They are attempting to destabilize Syria, and a number of organizations have been recruited to implement a scheme of dirty tricks to undermine national unity. Recent media reports have revealed websites created in 2008 by U.S. and Israeli intelligence agents to spread malicious propaganda, and in all some $2 billion has been paid for the destruction of Syria because it supports the resistance in Lebanon and Gaza. These conspirators want to return Syria to the Stone Age!
It seems that there is a new Sykes-Picot conspiracy being hatched against Arabs in general, and Syria in particular, since it is the last bastion of Arab steadfastness. But events have demonstrated the soundness of Syria’s position and the correctness of its political approach as a regional leader to defend its national interests. That is what concerns Western powers the most at a time of growing Syrian strength and the expansion of its regional role, in conjunction with the general decline of colonialism in the region.
This plot obscures the emerging mobility of Syria’s youth by repeating the grassroots slogans that make demands of the leadership. Yet the whole basket of popular, trade union and national party demands has already been approved by the 10th National Party Conference, although its implementation has been delayed for a variety of reasons, some objective and some as part of Syria’s defense strategy.
However, no one can deny that the engine of reform and modernization in Syria is on the right track and proceeding at the right speed. Nor can anyone ignore the attention that President Bashar al-Assad personally pays to issues raised by Syrian citizens. He always listens to their demands and provides guidance to resolve them as quickly as possible, in accordance with the law and in an organized manner.
The decisions and recent decrees issued by the president were part of this economic reform, which met with widespread popular approval as expressed in marches of thanks, support and loyalty to the leader of the nation in Syrian cities. The process of reform has not and will not stop. Further reform will be accelerated at all levels, providing political, social and cultural rights, so as to ensure the stability and progress of the Syrian community in all ways.
The significant distortions of the Western media, all of their tricks and lies, cannot hide the flood of popular support for President Bashar al-Assad. No matter how much conspirators pay the media hacks who are trying to sow sedition by promoting a false reality, the awareness of the Syrian people and their solidarity remains intact. Every conspiracy by the enemies of the Syrian people will fail, and any drop of blood that is spilled will be paid for dearly, even if Syria should be filled with martyrs.
