Will Trump Investigate Harris? Political Analyst Responds*
*Editor’s note: On March 4, 2022, Russia enacted a law that criminalizes public opposition to, or independent news reporting about, the war in Ukraine. The law makes it a crime to call the war a “war” rather than a “special military operation” on social media or in a news article or broadcast. Political analyst Malek Dudakov doubts Donald Trump will launch an investigation into Kamala Harris anytime soon.
In an interview with NEWS.ru, Malek Dudakov, political analyst and Americanist, said it’s unlikely President Donald Trump will push for a formal investigation into Kamala Harris, former vice president and Democratic presidential candidate, in the near future. He emphasized that the president’s team is currently focused on higher-priority issues, both domestically and internationally.
“As we know, Kamala Harris’ campaign reportedly spent a record-breaking amount — somewhere between $1.5 billion and $2 billion, depending on the source. And yet, they lost the election. Naturally, that’s left many Democratic donors frustrated. Now they want answers. Some are even demanding a full-scale audit to see where the money actually went,” Dudakov explained. “That said, I don’t think we’ll see any major probes anytime soon. Trump’s team is focused on bigger issues, both at home and abroad, than tracking celebrities who may have made millions off the Harris campaign,” he added.
Trump previously called for a major investigation into alleged illegal payments to celebrities by the Harris campaign. He noted that under U.S. law, candidates for public office are not allowed to pay for support.
