Those Which Are Not the Odd Ones Out

It is not the first time that Obama and Cameron wrote an article together. But this article, which was released while Obama was visiting London, has got the lot — not only because it is transporting the American-British past into the future.

The president and prime minister are talking enthusiastically about the Arabellion, the fight for democracy and human rights in Arabia. It is such a big pathos that one might think, these are not the two pragmatists, but their predecessors Bush and Blair.

Especially in the case of Obama, the rhetoric catches the eye. But it is not only the rhetoric which attracts attention, but also the advice on military action against those which strike down the rebellions bloodily.

There is no talk about Syria — is that deliberate? Or Yemen? What about Saudi Arabia? The strong ally of both countries did not forgive Washington until today for no longer supporting Mubarak. Obama and Cameron could dispel one doubt: The mission in Libya is geared toward a regime change. What else?
