President Obama, We Await Your Reply!

We say to U.S. President Barack Obama: If you are carrying the banner of democracy in the world, then you must not restrict dialogue to just “the government” and “the opposition” as you did in your last speech. There is a third party more important than the opposition, who almost destroyed the country with their foolishness. It is the “National Unity Gathering,” which returned balance to Bahrain after the opposition (who talked about balance) tried to sell our country to Iran. This is an opposition that has perpetrated the most offensive types of terrorism and ignited a fire of civil strife. It is not acceptable under any circumstances to allow anyone to turn Bahrain into a second Iraq. We know that traditionally, crimes throughout U.S. history have taken on many colors, many reasons, and many justifications! Even your democracy is just a glossy varnish that washes off after the first rainstorm!

What is it that the opposition wants, Mr. President? Freedom exists, and organizations that work actively with the blessing of the government exist. Every opposition on the face of Earth wishes that their country was like Bahrain, that their leaders were like Bahrain’s leaders. Everything that has been achieved for the Bahraini opposition has not come into effect for any opposition in any other Arab country. If you are prepared to hear the statistics, we are “ready.”

Your speech, Mr. President, as far as I’m concerned, was very low-key. The United States has exploited the difficulties that the Arab world, including those of us in the Gulf, continues to experience, and has worked in our orchards to harvest the fruits. The fruits are well known; they are a third of the world’s oil reserves located in the Middle East, particularly within the Gulf.

Your speech reflects that American spirit we have known for many years: a feeling of tremendous confidence alongside the U.S. authorities working throughout history to propagate the idea that the United States is a country undefeated. The result is the eagerness you all have for accumulating material wealth, which is reflected in your politics and literature!

You discussed many things, but next time we want you to tell us about the revolutions in your own country against its institutions and the disappointment over everything U.S. society has given and is unable to give. Tell us about the Americans who die in great numbers every day in wars with no meaning, and that these wars have begun to encroach on Americans’ income, affecting the traditional prosperity level of the American people. I remind you here of that famous saying, “Must we engage in unjust wars?” Tell us about the inconsistencies within the U.S. and the problems that have no solutions, like the worsening economic situation and the spread of crime and violence that has created a state of rebellion against the American way of life, its foundations and its principles. Tell us about the disaffected American youth who suffer the most because of your country’s political crimes in Somalia, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Tell us in detail about the rulers of Iran who instinctively refuse any attempt at peace, and tell us: In your view, what is the solution to stop the Safavid expansion?

You are well aware, Mr. President, that history is made by the people if they have freedom of choice and strength of will. We are Bahraini people, and we have made our history by ourselves. We love our “sheikhs,” and we live with them in safety, prosperity and stability. We await your response!
