Obama’s Magic Tricks

In his speech on the Middle East and North Africa, Obama put forth an ambitious economic plan to “support transitions to democracy.” The first recipients will be Egypt and Tunisia. At the request of Washington, at the G-8 summit from May 26 to May 27 in France, the World Bank and International Monetary Fund will present a plan to “stabilize and modernize the economies of Egypt and Tunisia.“ They should put their own house in order first before worrying about Africa and the Middle East.

“Humane” as usual, Obama added that the United States doesn’t want a democratic Egypt that is burdened by past debt; the U.S. will thus take on a billion dollars of Egypt’s external debt. But don’t say that if Egypt has more than $30 billion in debt despite being a major exporter of petroleum, natural gas and even manufactured goods, it must be due to the fact that its economy is dominated by American and European multinationals to whom Mubarak has largely opened Egypt’s doors.

Should you have to consult M.A.M.? If his predecessors have succumbed to the Zionist charm, Obama will not be the exception. He fooled the Arabs once in his famous Cairo speech, which led to the well-known boomerang effect; has he done it again by laying a second “giant” egg? The proof is in his unconditional support of the Zionist regime.

In a speech given to the primary pro-Israel lobby in the United States, AIPAC, the president reaffirmed the “unshakable” support of the United States toward the security of the Israeli regime by promising that the United States would oppose all efforts to “single Israel out” at the United Nations. Notice as well how Zionists are going to endow the Zionist regime with more arms to impose its hegemony in the region.

He also took the time in his speech on Thursday to defend American policy in the Middle East, affirming that his actions have been poorly interpreted by the media. That is, he must consult M.A.M as well. The ultimate mendacity in Obama’s speech on Thursday May 19 was clearly a rehashing of the past in hypocrisy, a moral duplicity and empty rhetoric. Aside from his verbal approval of the Arab revolutions, Obama has done nothing but dwell upon the American position regarding Palestinian distress, the central question that continues to generate tension and instability throughout the world, especially in the impacted Arab region.

And to top it off, there is the discursive fraud. He would be lying if he attributed the successes of the Egyptian and Tunisian revolutions, even partially, to an indifferent and shameful American effort.
