Will Hope Reign When We See Tomorrow’s Dawn?

The United States has spent most of its money and attention on Iraq, not on Pakistan and Afghanistan. Presently, it is spending more money in Afghanistan than in Pakistan. The time has come for it to get to work and try to win the hearts of the Pakistani people. Let’s look at some of the famous headlines and press statements from the past: “Great Britain is going to aid America in its mission in Afghanistan!” “We will find the hiding places of al-Qaida members!” “Al-Qaida has started seeking ‘financial assistance’ from Pakistan through ransom kidnappings!” “480,000 stateless Palestinians live in abject poverty!” “Israel is going to expand its settlements on Palestinians lands by constructing 2,000 new houses!”

While America and Great Britain are brazenly accomplishing their missions, the Israeli lobby is also succeeding in furthering its agenda. However, it is doing so slowly and behind closed doors. The Jews and Israelis refuse to give up any of their goals. The hard work and persistence of the Israeli lobby and Jewish-American businessmen and intellectuals seem to have paid off. As a result of their actions, the United States is defending Israel by keeping it safe. During the American election time, both presidential candidates do whatever they can to gain the blessings and approval of the Israeli lobby. This is the same old story that began with Bill Clinton and continues through Obama’s administration. At first, Obama was pushing Israel to accept the demands of the Palestinian Authority. Now he is approving the new Jewish settlements on Palestinian lands!

We are always seeking America’s approval. Our government does not take any actions to benefit our people. It is always too eager to ask the U.S. for favors. These favors only benefit the Pakistani government and not its common people. Our government also knows that if the U.S. helps it, then Britain will imitate the U.S.

We have known this, but they are now telling us that today’s al-Qaida is much more dangerous (and different) than the al-Qaida of ten years ago. They tell us that al-Qaida is now operating through the money it gets from the ransom kidnappings in Pakistan and also inform us about al-Zawahri’s current romance with al-Qaida. But let’s focus on the statements of the Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi.

General Vahidi visited Afghanistan and received a warm welcome there. He stated that Iran would help Afghanistan and neighboring Islamic countries in their quest for stability and prosperity. He said that America is a threat to this region’s well-being and that it is solely responsible for all the terrorist activities here.

Remember, the United States was Iran’s ally at one point. After Iran became a successful state, the U.S. became its enemy and now poses a grave threat to it. When they blew up the Iranian parliament, Iran recovered quickly. The government built a new parliament within 90 days. Iran is one of the best examples of a successful democratic state in this region of the world. Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran will only be successful if they take actions that benefit their own people. Barack Obama will soon announce his plan for the removal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. This is great news, as the withdrawal will strengthen our democracies and make us more stable. Let hope reign when we see tomorrow’s dawn!
