From Nagasaki to Kabul

66 years ago, America dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima (Aug. 6) and Nagasaki (Aug. 9). The whole world was angered over America’s actions and expressed sympathy for Japan on this 66th anniversary of the bombings. More than 214,000 Japanese people (including civilians and government officials) were killed on those dates. People, including children, placed flowers in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Some of the participants at this occasion were survivors of the atomic bomb. One such man was crying and stated that “humanity should be ashamed, for what was perpetrated against us has not even been perpetrated against beasts and animals in human history.”

The mayor of Hiroshima said that, after Hiroshima, America provided nuclear weapons to the entire world. He stated that America’s belligerent policies have made the entire world unsafe, and strongly urged the U.S. to limit its wars and use of nuclear weapons. Doing so, he claimed, would result in world peace. The Japanese president, in a separate address, stated that Japan has implemented policies against the usage of nuclear weapons and it hopes that countries of the world will work together in eliminating nuclear weapons so that we can attain peace.

Let’s remember the exact details of that event. On Aug. 6, 1945, at 8:05 AM, an American B-29 launched the atomic bomb “Little Boy” on the city of Hiroshima. Within 30 seconds, 140,000 people were killed. 80-to-85,000 people were immediately disabled for life. Three days later, on Aug. 9, the atomic bomb “Fat Boy” was launched on the city of Nagasaki; this resulted in 74,000 deaths. These bombs destroyed two Japanese cities and killed 214,000 people.

The whole world was outraged at America. “America is the enemy of humanity,” people chanted. From East to West, all media stations covered these appallingly tragic news stories on a daily basis. These stories could melt the heart of the most “stone-hearted” person. Everyone hoped that we would never see such a tragic day again. People hoped that such an injustice against humanity would never occur again. But instead of being apologetic and peaceful, America has become even more violent than before.

From 1945 to 2008, the world saw 108 major wars. All these wars have involved large-scale killings of innocents and the use of sophisticated war weapons. One, and only one, country is responsible for all these wars: America. It fought some of these wars indirectly and participated in some directly; in others, it got involved by selling weapons. These wars had resulted in 10,900,000 deaths by the year 1996.

In Latin America, in the countries Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, The Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Falkland Islands, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay and Peru, these wars killed 470,000 people. In the Middle East and North Africa, in the countries Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, wars have killed 993,000 people. Because of American conspiracies, 17 African nations are trapped in wars. These countries include Angola, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Sudan, Uganda, Zaire, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

There have been 4,164,000 deaths in these countries. War-affected European countries, such as Czechoslovakia, Romania, Hungary and Turkey, lost 186,000 people. South Asian countries, such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka, lost 2,857,000 people in wars. Other Asian countries, such as Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Burma, Philippines, Taiwan, Russia and Vietnam, were involved in more terrifying wars and lost 3,906,000. Don’t forget. There was only one hand behind all these wars: America’s. Only one country provided weapons to all the countries mentioned above: America.
