The Irrelevance of Sovereignty

The cannibals of sovereignty: That is precisely what the U.S. and NATO have become with their new methods of intervention, arousing dissent and using communication technologies to break apart peoples and states.

We see it every day, and Libya is just the latest chapter. They are already going after new prey and launching dirty propaganda campaigns. Behind the smokescreen of democracy and freedom is oil, water, gas, rare metals, the always-dazzling gold and power, all of which translate into wealth and military strength. Now, modern Rome expands its realm of control, but it too will one day fall…

As never before in its imperial history, the Washington regime is using its most hidden and criminal branches as well as the most sophisticated weapons technologies to force a new kind of war in which no direct threat comes to its regular soldiers but objectives are achieved nonetheless. Here are some examples:

Before the start of the ground invasion of the country now in ruins, Iraq was softened by long-range missile bombings from warships and stealth jets. At this time, in Afghanistan and the border regions of Pakistan, robots look for the enemy in caves, mountains, roads and villages, while special operations forces carry out nighttime raids to take out the enemy and unmanned drones riddle anyone with bullets with the utmost impunity.

In Libya we have seen a campaign unfold to discredit the government in order to achieve “ungovernability.” The campaign includes exacerbating the dissatisfaction of a portion of the population with mercenary activity in precisely those areas that are the richest in oil wealth, and it calls for the giving of external support by way of weapons and logistics in exchange for the insubordination of those rebels against their government. These actions protected by resolutions of those claiming to represent the “global community.” Of course, that was not enough, and therefore we have the direct involvement of NATO in the bombings, which were initiated by France and other NATO members and which have, at this late stage, been of extreme cruelty to the point that virtually from Sunday to Monday, at least 2000 people have been killed in Tripoli, the Libyan capital.

A similar strategy is being carried out against Syria and Iran, and attention must be brought to the underhanded alliance with an unpatriotic opposition in Venezuela (being carried out along the dictates of the Obama administration in an attempt to bring down the Bolivian Revolution), a country whose possibilities are undeniable with all its riches that the U.S. seeks and wants to control: Oil, water, minerals, gold…They are shooting for the domino effect so that all the independent and sovereign governments of this hemisphere will fall from the burden.

In the ninth opportunist war the combatants are playing in the shade. They are the special operations forces (consisting of the currently-fashionable Navy SEALs as well as Delta, Blue Light, Air Commandos, Rangers and Green Berets), whose numbers have doubled and whose budget almost quadrupled in the last decade, and the ubiquitous Central Intelligence Agency, owner of the drones used in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia.

The Pentagon’s strength in tactical and strategic plans can be seen in the fact that in early August, Vice Admiral Robert Harward, former head of the SEALS, was appointed deputy commander of Central Command, whose area of action is the Middle East and Central Asia, and another SEAL chief, Vice Admiral Joseph Kernan, is now the deputy chief of Southern Command, which covers Latin America and the Caribbean. Nothing could be more clear.

As stated in an article a few months back on the website Foreign Policy in Focus, for this new type of war, in which a large intelligence network is required, “…sovereignty is irrelevant, armies tangential, and decisions are secret.”

Along with the cannibalism of wealth, the Western powers, led by the Washingtonian Empire, also want to gobble up sovereignty.
