10 Years after 9/11: What We Learned

The 9/11 terrorist attacks took place in September 2001. Now it is September 2011. Thousands of events have taken place since then that have some relation to that attack. In America, there are conflicting views on 9/11. Many people across the world still think that 9/11 was an American conspiracy; they hold that many American lobbies and networks worked together in planning this attack and then waged a war in Afghanistan by using terrorism as an excuse. All 44 NATO countries participated in some form in America’s war on terror, and more than a hundred countries, in total, were involved.

The entire world is stuck on the same agenda: the elimination of the Taliban and al-Qaida. This motivation was used to turn Afghanistan into a graveyard. When he declared war on Afghanistan, former U.S. President Bush declared that he would catch all the terrorist “rats.” Then he sent his troops to Kabul to accomplish this mission. But America did not succeed. The Taliban waged their own guerrilla war against America and blood started flowing on both sides. It continues to flow. Many American Army generals have themselves acknowledged that America cannot win its war in Afghanistan.

U.S. President Obama has announced a complete military withdrawal from Afghanistan by 2014; they started withdrawing some of their troops this past July. The Taliban have won this war. It was the Americans who started this war. They declared that they would win the war and bring order to Afghanistan. Now they are the ones who are saying that “we can’t win this war” and are engaging in dialogue with the Taliban. The Americans have announced that they and their war-addicted military allies will depart Afghanistan by 2014. The Taliban have said that they will stop fighting when the Americans leave, as it was the Americans who started this war.

What does this all prove about the Taliban’s warfare skills? Britain was defeated and humiliated in the first Anglo-Afghan war. Later, the Russians were defeated as well. Now America has been caught in the claws of the Taliban. The Taliban have severely beaten the Americans. The Americans have now admitted this fact.

American society is now dead. Every day a financial institution collapses. Hundreds of thousands of Americans are unemployed. The U.S. dollar has lost much of its value in the international markets. America is trying to convince China (its primary financial backer) that it has enough money. However, U.S. military commanders in Afghanistan have announced that their soldiers’ pay will be delayed because of America’s financial problems.

10 years ago America claimed to be the champion of the world, the leader of world affairs. Now it has been destroyed. Across the world, new countries are getting more powerful and moving ahead of America. The white man’s domination is coming to an end. The sun of the American empire is now ready to set. Afghanistan brought about the end of the Communist empire. Now it is bringing about the downfall of the American empire; this will take no longer than a few years or months. When the Americans and their allies depart, Afghanistan will still stand proudly. God willing!
