America Is Unreliable from Any Perspective

In the investigations of the Mohmand Agency incident so far , America has accepted responsibility for the NATO attack and has also said that the U.S. has learned some lessons. After accepting that Pakistani soldiers were killed without provocation, a clause has nonetheless been added stating that along with the American military, Pakistani forces also bear responsibility and that this action was undertaken in self-defense. It has also been stated that the NATO pilots were not aware of the presence of Pakistani soldiers. The Inter-Services Public Relations disagreed with the report and said that it was short on facts.

Whether the Americans may adopt an aggressive or conciliatory posture depending on circumstances, but they are dangerous either way. When their intentions are thwarted, they sweeten their tone, though this sweetness is actually infused with poison. As soon as the other country falls into their honeyed trap, they begin coercing her. Their friendship is more dangerous than their enmity because in reality, the word friendship is not contained in the lexicon of either the White House or the Pentagon. They only befriend themselves and do not enter any sweet relationships except to secure American gains. The report they have issued is completely wrong. Their claims that they have learned a lesson is a lie because had that been the case, they would have sat down with the Pakistani leadership with a clear heart and, after apologizing for the Salalan check post affair, would have agreed upon new rules of the game. To rely upon the Americans is synonymous with chopping off one’s own foot. Our political and military leadership should learn a lesson from Iran and keep the Americans where Iran has kept them. Otherwise, they will send us to the extremes of ruination with false promises of friendship.
