When Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said that no consensus was reached to invite Cuba to the Sixth Summit of the Americas, to be held in Colombia in April, he gave a nice nickname to Washington’s order. One must note here that in this situation, the importance becomes all the more clear of organizations such as ALBA and CELAC, which result from the efforts of integration and the struggle for sovereignty. Another America is possible, and political progress is very necessary.
The Sixth Summit of the Americas will be the first of that name since June 2009, when the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) revoked resolution VI, which excluded Cuba from the Inter-American system.
