Hillary Is a No-Go to the White House

Hillary Clinton does not want to run for president of the United States. We have known this for years, but Ms. Clinton reminded all of us once again during her visit to India. She also added that she hopes to live to see a female president in the White House.

Clinton has more pressing problems than whether or not she will live to see a female in the White House as commander-in-chief rather than the first lady. Currently she has a problem in dealing with India, who has increased its cooperation with Iran, especially in the energy sector, which indirectly finances Iran’s nuclear program.

However, the question of a female president is not going anywhere. This would be a significant shift in the American mentality, on par with the election of Barack Obama. Clinton cannot run this year, as it is the custom for the ruling party to unite behind their incumbent. Obama will no doubt run for a second term and beat his Mormon opponent, Mitt Romney.

Hillary won’t run in 2016. She will be almost 70 years old, and has announced that with the end of Barack Obama’s first term, she intends to retire and join the lecture circuit, as well as write some books and finally travel without a protection detail (rather wishful thinking). In India, she said that she would rather be able to walk down the street like a normal person.

However, Clinton has made her mark. History will remember her as the 67th Secretary of State, and not just the wife of an unfaithful president.

A woman in the White House would really be a sight to behold. Before Obama became president, there was talk of “Condi” Rice running on the GOP ticket. Sarah Palin was setting her sights on the vice-presidency, but we know how that turned out. The road to the White House for Hillary is clear. However, it is doubtful whether she wants to go.
