Day after day there is proof that the circles supporting, financing, sheltering and training terrorists are expanding. Even individual governments have made no secret of choosing to flagrantly support and embrace terrorists. These governments include: Erdogan’s government; the United States administration; some European governments; the government in Qatar; Saudi Arabia; and others that arm the so-called Syrian opposition’s legitimate duty. What an excellent idea?!
On March 14, in Lebanese accommodations in Turkey, the latest announcement was the assignment of a Saudi son as a deputy. His purpose is to provide money and arms to terrorists, to take all the necessary steps to supply arms, money and armed extremists and deliver them into Syria across the Turkish and Lebanese borders. This cannot be viewed as an isolated incident; rather, it is in conjuncture with the Saudi authority’s transfer of elements of al-Qaida to Syria.
Thus, the support, funding, training and arming have turned into reasons for governments and international forums to openly declare in the media that it is the duty of the U.N. Security Council to start immediate investigations and take the appropriate deterrent measures. The U.N. Security Council should transfer a report to the International Criminal Court documenting the support of international terrorism which is going on. Only then will these actions be criminalized and those responsible held accountable; from American Defense Secretary Panetta, Prime Minister of Qatar Hamad bin Jassim, Saud al-Faisal the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi-Lebanese son Saad Hariri to Erdogan, Davutoglu and others in Western capitals who claim to combat al-Qaida in Afghanistan and be in support of Syria!!
Why does the U.N. Security Council ignore behavior and actions of officials and governments that constitute the real system of support to international terrorism in Syria? Would they take the same actions and ignore this if it were related to Israel—an organized terror entity—or any Western country? Or will they hectically record the suspicions—as was the case in other instances—in a way contrary to the information, facts and public statements? In recent years especially, fabrications and false testimony (evidenced by the famously cynical Colin Powell) have been used to legitimize wars of aggression, perhaps the most recent example being the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
Until we defeat the elements that support terrorism, we will continue fighting a war against terrorism in the sacred land of Syria. The fight with war allies and friends is an honorable one combating international hypocrisy and against the policies of occupation and aggression. In order to realize the right to liberate the land and to achieve justice, we must not retreat, bargain or compromise, regardless of the sacrifices and challenges, and no matter how expansive the circles of terrorism, treason, conspiracy, etc. are. We must rely on our own strength, our faith in our country, and our brave Syrian Arab army and armed forces. Stopping the liberals of the world on our side represents the truth, legitimacy, honor and dignity of this nation.
