Iran has Condemned theUS's Nuclear Test

The Iranian authorities have sharply condemned the nuclear test carried out on Dec. 5 in the U.S.

According to the Iranian foreign ministry representative, Ramin Mahmanparast, in conducting this test the U.S. authorities showed “disregard for the complete disarmament which is required by international public opinion.”

Last Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Energy reported that a nuclear test was being conducted at an underground facility in the state of Nevada; the test was aimed at studying the behavior of nuclear weapons when no explosion occurs, claims Interfax.

It is worth noting that this test does not violate the moratorium imposed in the U.S. on nuclear explosions. The last nuclear explosion in the U.S. was conducted for research purposes at the Nevada test site on Sept. 23, 1992. After this, Washington announced the introduction of a moratorium on such tests.
