US Biolaboratories: Factories of Death*

*Editor’s Note: On March 4, Russia enacted a law that criminalizes public opposition to, or independent news reporting about, the war in Ukraine. The law makes it a crime to call the war a “war” rather than a “special military operation” on social media or in a news article or broadcast. The law is understood to penalize any language that “discredits” Russia’s use of its military in Ukraine, calls for sanctions or protests Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It punishes anyone found to spread “false information” about the invasion with up to 15 years in prison.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has stated that it has found documents evidencing the development of biological weapons within a network of biolaboratories in Ukraine controlled by the Pentagon. American diplomat Victoria Nuland did not hide her concern that the Russian military may be trying to take control of these death factories.

It has long been an open secret that the United States has established military biological laboratories in 25 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and the territory of the former Soviet Union. There are a dozen of them in Ukraine: in Odessa, Vinnytsia, Uzhgorod, Lviv, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Kherson and Ternopil. Several laboratories are also located in Crimea and near Luhansk.

In late 1991, the U.S. Congress approved the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program, which is managed by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency at the Pentagon. In addition to Ukraine, dozens of Pentagon-funded reference laboratories have been established near Russia. Such laboratories are located in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Uzbekistan.

American scientists agree that these laboratories develop biological weapons. The author of the American’s Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act, professor of international law at the University of Illinois Francis Boyle, told the world media two years ago that an estimated 13,000 scientists in the United States and abroad are employed making new strains of offensive killer germs that will be resistant to vaccines. According to Boyle, the Pentagon and the CIA are “ready, willing and able to launch biowarfare when it suits their interests.” So why did the Pentagon place its lethal laboratories not at home, in America, but other countries?

Because these countries are targets. Biological, ethnic and racial weapons are being created in the Pentagon’s death factories. The creation of such weapons became possible when American scientists Andrew Fire and Craig Mello discovered a mechanism called RNA interference in 1998. In 2006, the scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize for this discovery. The idea of potentially using RNA interference to create ethnic and racial weapons was mentioned in a report by the DTRA, subordinate to the Pentagon, which oversees all Pentagon biolaboratories, including in Ukraine.

With the help of RNA interference, it is possible to affect how the genes of certain ethnic groups behave so that people from this ethnic group could experience serious illness or, conversely, cease to develop immunity against a particular disease. This is a genetic weapon. The first attempt to create such a targeted weapon was undertaken in the late 1970s in South Africa through Project Coast, a secret program to develop biological weapons that target Black people.

Project Coast also created large quantities of biotoxins, but in the early 1990s, this program was stopped. In an interview with the BBC, former head of the South African biological weapons program, Daan Goosen, said that Project Coast had developed a vaccine that could sterilize Black people without their knowledge.

In the spring of 2002, Goosen offered one U.S. intelligence agency his stockpile of biotoxins from the program in exchange for $5 million. According to official reports, his proposal was declined on the pretext that the strains were obsolete, but later Goosen’s samples of a man-made strain were couriered to America by the CIA, according to The Washington Post. After that, work on genetic weapons in the United States has noticeably intensified. Among the countries where the use of racial weapons is possible, the publication named, in particular, Ukraine: “countries such as Ukraine and Kazakhstan […] find themselves in a gray zone where weapons of the past pose serious dangers for the present.”

In July 2017, the Air Education and Training Command of the U.S. Air Force offered to buy samples of RNA from Russian citizens of Caucasian origin. The U.S. military needed samples of RNA molecules involved in the implementation of human genetic information and synovial tissue which aids in joint mobility. On Oct. 30, 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Western emissaries were “purposefully and professionally” collecting biological material from members of different ethnic groups in Russia. The activities of Americans collecting Russian genomes were stopped and soon after the State Duma passed a law on biological security.

In Ukraine, however, as in other countries where the Pentagon biolaboratories are located, the authorities did not seem concerned about protecting their citizens from racial biological weapons. But according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, biological programs are now being urgently curtailed in Ukraine. This is corroborated by the documents the Ministry of Health of Ukraine revealed the day before, which, from Feb. 24, require laboratories to completely destroy their biological weapons. Russian experts suggest that documents evidencing the development of biological weapons based on ethnicity, gender or some other characteristic will be destroyed first.

The Americans are now falling over themselves to prevent Russia from seizing documentation from the Pentagon’s Ukrainian biolaboratories. Then the whole world will see that in the 21st century, the highly cultured Anglo-Saxons are doing the same thing that war criminals from Japanese Unit 731 did in conducting biological warfare — that is, they are both guilty of committing crimes against humanity. This is no different than what the Nazis did in the 1930s and 1940s. Now, they can and should wait for a new Nuremberg Trial.
