Proceedings of the Next Twenty Years!

Edited by Louis Standish

When we read about U.S. foreign strategy for the 21st century, we find that the first third of century talks about facts, figures, specific locations and names while the second third refers to the language of expectations and the possibilities, while the third about wishes and expectations. Generally speaking, the integrated vision that clearly appears to policy makers who see a global century that should be Americanized. In the mid-nineties, we have already seen and lived through strong and active American trends in almost every country, including ours, to achieve the Americanization of the world! During that time, Washington was intoxicated with the collapse of the Soviet Union, and believed it had a free hand in handling international affairs. At the same time, it was observing with great concern the deepening crisis of the usurious based capitalist world system which it leads. Undoubtedly, and with much confidence, it believed that the demise of the Soviet Union would enable it to face its capital crisis at the expense of weaker nations, enabling the creation of a globalized, or rather Americanized, world that is governed by a financial oligarchy with no name or title and does not have the slightest ounce of conscience, compassion or mercy!

What Made the Crisis Explode?

The first thing that should be a tip off, when referring to the expectations of the next twenty years in regards to U.S. international strategy, is that these expectations are linked to the crisis which is based in the global system’s center, United States, but that is not the only cause even if the crisis emerged before and at faster rate than previous ones. The acute symptoms of the crisis have not just appeared in the United States in 2008, but were as severe as the losses of the Ford company, which ran up to six billion dollars in 1996. In this regard, all such information was almost a classified work in form of the 21st century strategy when the neo-conservatives finished formulating it in 1996. Now, what made the crisis worse and set it to explode was the mass failure in implementing this strategy which led to the failure to tighten control over Iraq and get the key that America needed to get rid of the crisis!

The Oil Resere is Running Out and Consumption is Rising!

According to U.S. Strategy, national security interests of both the United States and Europe are centered in the greater Middle East, where the industrial countries increasingly rely on the global economy powered by oil exports from the Middle East. American estimates indicate that the global consumption will rise from about 82 million barrels per day in 2005, to about 90 million barrels in 2010, to about 99 million in 2015, to about 109 million in 2020, to about 119 million in 2025! The estimates also expect an oil production increase in the Middle East and North Africa (according to what they believe) to about 54 million barrels in 2025, and the rate of the total world production will reach about 43 percent in the first quarter of this century. In the year 2030, the rate of world production will increase to about 55 percent! Stunning enough as that is, while the world’s oil reserve is running even as consumption rises. Also, profiteers only care about their narrow interests; seeking to capture the remaining oil and consuming it in their own way. After all that comes the deluge!

Military Failure and the Global Crisis

The U.S. Department of Energy has predicted that oil exports from the Arabian Gulf states alone need to produce about 36 million barrels in 2025 in order to meet the needs of growing consumption, and that’s not counting declining resources!; that means reaching 37 percent of the total world exports, and that Iraq shall produce between 10 to 15 million barrels per day on its own, which makes the reasons for occupying Iraq and controlling it clear. The alluring vast oil wealth in the total reserve is estimated to be about 450 billion barrels. So, occupying it and controlling its land and oil is the key that enables America to impose its control and international hegemony on all and also enables it to establish the actual Americanized Century. Thus, these disastrous results become understandable in form of the failure in Iraq and the financial global crisis!

The Magic Key!

We have managed to cover the crisis that began in the mid nineties on the basis that it could be solved rapidly and respectively before its explosion by occupying Iraq and the consequences of international dominance by controlling its oil reservoir. We shall be able to produce 15 million barrels or more. That makes the war cost nothing in comparison! Not to mention their estimates that were turned upside down when they were unable to maintain Iraqi oil production in the borders of a long, tight siege that produces a million and a quarter barrels of oil per day! They were fully confident that they would manage to raise output to three million barrels per day during the few months that followed the occupation, and to five million barrels in the following year, and so on! Iraq was the magical key to their international evil project! However, the great Iraqi people blocked their way to make any progress in this direction, saving the world from the disasters that have devastating implications if the project succeeded; put them on the brink of a disaster, though the price paid was very expensive!

Unprecedented Mass Destruction!

The proceedings of the first third of the 21stcentury, as we have seen, are primarily about oil and subdivided into other incidents no matter how important they are. Therefore, it is ordinary to see our [Arabic] countries to be the first battlegrounds in a world led by criminals, with all the tragedies we go through around the clock. Of course, we have nothing but the strength to face such tragedies and to overcome it. It is our inescapable fate. If we are to succeed in overcoming this fateful enormous confrontation and to get ride of the oppression, the first thing that should be done is to work with honorable people in this world to rationalize the oil consumption. This material is the contemporary life’s noble blood and a non-renewable material. If it is being consumed brutally the way America does, it will run out before the end of this century and perhaps before making any of its alternatives handy that are not yet available. [I think if it runs out before that, then it will be a great unprecedented catastrophe and unprecedented mass destruction! ]
