Thank You FBI!

Why exactly is the American federal police force investigating FIFA corruption? It’s doing its job — unlike the authorities in Germany.

After decades of carefree bribing and being bribed it’s not so merry anymore in the FIFA house. The big shakedown has begun. For the first time, we can dream about the possibility that world football might become cleaner. And who’s achieved this? The U.S. American federal agents of the FBI, persistent, shrewd investigators, a plucky U.S. Department of Justice as well as the attorney general and the FBI’s direct superiors. For years the American federal police investigate in accordance with the tried and tested method: Follow the money!

Which led to the U.S. This is where the bribery, the felony worthy of pursuit, was committed. That is why the U.S. judiciary is investigating. They’ve asked the Swiss authorities for legal assistance. The references to bribery during the selection processes for the World Cups in Russia and Qatar are surely embarrassing for the Kremlin and the sheikhs — but theories of political conspiracy have come to nothing.

It is quite simply so; the American judiciary is doing its job — unlike the German, Swiss or French judiciaries. In this case the U.S. are acting as the noble world police. Good. Up to now, other police forces haven’t managed it. Therefore, thank you FBI!

Thank you American judiciary!
