China’s Resolve in the Conflict with America

In the trade dispute with Washington, Beijing is armed with determination and resolve as it responds quickly to the Trump administration’s persistent imposition of tariffs on Chinese products, to which the American consumer has become accustomed and have relied upon for decades. These responses are neither the first nor the last as long as the Trump administration continues to flout the ABCs of free trade and the charters and resolutions of the World Trade Organization, which was founded in America more than seven decades ago.

Washington expanded the trade war with Beijing by adding Huawei to the “entities list” for reasons of national security, a move that will prevent the technology giant from obtaining American-made components needed for its hardware. In response, Beijing announced it will issue a list of “unreliable entities,” which China’s state-owned tabloid. the Global Times, explained “would work as a deterrent, forming a protective barrier around Chinese companies.”

The trade war stoked by the Trump administration shows the extent to which the U.S. is stretching the rights of free and fair competition. Today, the world stands to gain more from the construction of fiber optic networks by relying on Huawei’s techniques in terms of quality, efficiency and price. China is the fastest at building international development companies free from the uneconomic conditions that burden people and nations, especially developing nations.

The loser in this war is the global economy, and soon it will be the American economy, which is showing signs of weakness. Analysts think Washington may make fiscal decisions to spur demand in the American economy. The most important of these decisions is the Federal Reserve resorting to repeated reductions in interest rates on the dollar before the end of this year.

The American-Chinese dispute is evolving into a wider conflict as the Trump administration seeks to increase trade revenue on the one hand to fund more spending – especially military spending – and reduce the trade deficit with Beijing on the other. This policy, however, will increase the cost of American production, reduce American competitiveness and slow American exports, especially if Washington wages a multifront war against China, Europe and Russia. Based on key economic indicators in recent months, this policy would harm the American economy and jeopardize the major recovery it’s achieved.

The recklessness of the Trump administration in all four corners of the globe points to the decline of American influence amid the renewed growth of ancient countries, nations and civilizations. American bullying and threats of force no longer work when the balance of terror becomes global. The only option is to rely on competition. Achieving higher rates of growth is the established norm without which growth evaporates even though some believe it’s constant.
