"A message has been sent," claimed Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys, a leader of the Mujahideen Youth Movement of Somalia, in a note about the recent death of Osama bin Laden. His killing does not mean the cause is over, according to Aweys. "The jihad does not end with the death of Osama bin Laden ... [just as it did not end when] they killed the prophets." In an exclusive statement he made to Al Jazeera news network on Monday, he continued by saying that although bin Laden has met his fate, it did not happen as a result of force — it simply happened.

Aweys also said that while perhaps bin Laden has been killed, his message of jihad will never die.

قال قائد حركة الشباب المجاهدين الصومالية حسن طاهر عويس في تعليقه على نبأ مقتل زعيم القاعدة أسامة بن لادن، إن "الرسالة وصلت"، وإن مقتل بن لادن "لا يعني أن القضية انتهت".
وأضاف عويس في تصريحات خاصة لقناة "الجزيرة" الفضائية اليوم "الاثنين" أن "الكثير من الرجال ماتوا على هذا، وليس الجهاد منتهيا بمقتل بن لادن.. هؤلاء يقتلون الأنبياء".
وتابع قائلا: إذا جاء القدر انتهى الأمر، ولا أعتقد أن بن لادن كان يلتزم بهذا المكان، ولكن القدر جاء هنا".
