WikiLeaks and the “Game” in Iraq

I have faced danger. I, as a citizen of Iraq, live with the local, regional and global phenomenon of political desires or goals, those storms that rage over our dear Iraq from all sides and are deliberately or aggressively pursued. Its dimensions are known to all and are meaningful and targeted.

The best role of WikiLeaks is not in fact the latest one, the thing that surprised everyone in Iraq. This shed light on the invasion of Iraq like the rush of new water in the waters of the Tigris and Euphrates — Iraq’s condition is the same as always. After it died down there was a glimmer of hope, a great tsunami that has political dimensions different than those who oppose us, and we said: “Thank God, what comfort!” and we breathed a sigh of relief for our Iraq that it has achieved security. It has finally started to form a government. Then WikiLeaks’ founder Julian Assange said, “Here I am,” and he claimed that the charges have been pinned on him from afar by people with an agenda. They led Iraq astray and put a spoke in the wheel of a new Iraq.

Maybe they will finish their plot and achieve their desire, and Iraq will remain in the vortex of political conflict, helpless until (what comfort!) they are caught in a net. This is the will and wishes of Julian, as well as those chosen by him. Al-Jazeera collaborated with him (supposedly), but was caught in a deception. He had hoped to settle in Sweden — he is Australian by birth — and then Sweden issued an arrest warrant for him on a rape charge, as reported on the Hurria channel. What a bitter misfortune! Shame on those who indulged those fools and participated intentionally or unintentionally in this farce on Al-Jazeera, the aforementioned deception!

Indeed, what concerns us about the WikiLeaks game is timing. I realized that the situation started to stabilize politically in Iraq and the new government is bound to come, and will get out of their control, if they did not act quickly. Right out the window, as the saying goes! The deception must be new, as is the case with most of the interventions in the affairs of Iraq that took place before or after. As far as the charges that wearied the front page are concerned, it is the responsibility of the state and government to know their goals and objectives, and take the suit of legal proceedings for WikiLeaks and for the assault on the people, and to give all their rights. Why has WikiLeaks chosen this time to restore the political situation in Iraq? When the people of Iraq win in this twisted game, they will come out healthy and capable, even according to those who have been playing games with them. Once we get beyond this game and other games of the opposition, studying its history may tell us something of our history. It may point out implications and details about what and how we have suffered from the attitudes and actions of aggression that were and are still targeting the Iraqi people in their aspirations. The Iraqi people strove for security, stability, construction, and progress to the land of Mesopotamia, until it was equal to developed nations in science, knowledge and prosperity, but we see that Iraq could not stop the aggressor’s machinations and plots to pacify and take his share in this area!

So, one after another came coups and wars without mercy, as well as cruelty, brutality, and the habit of resorting to armed force in Iraq. There was widespread destruction and devastation throughout the country, but did the aggressors succeed and achieve what they wanted? No, they did not find satisfaction! They failed and suffered from frustration, disappointment, defeat and abandonment due to the huge losses in money and exploited the lives of Iraqis through these wars! We have managed to move along, to the largest extent possible, on this bumpy road that is expensive, complicated, rocky and overloaded with tragedy and pain that does not meet expectations, but also brings resentment and hatred and revulsion and terrors! This was the adoption of optional political methods instead of military coups!

Hence this game is a purely political machination, promoting “democracy coups,” instead of military coups, which were prevalent the old days. This game is the alternative (the right word for this is futility), its purpose to intervene in the affairs of Iraq and keep it in permanent conflict and chaos, and weaken the imposition of governance! However, attempts have failed and collapsed, overwhelmed by the steadfastness of the Iraqi people and the firm determination to have the final word! There are often raging conflicts and disputes between the factions of the aggressors, even among the nations; they resort to arguments, excuses, malice and hostility!

Therefore, they resorted to accusing the founder of WikiLeaks of corruption and prostitution, to discredit the documents and WikiLeaks, possibly to cover or camouflage their intentions to confuse the political and social situation in Iraq — once again taking advantage of the difficult conditions that plagued the people of Iraq: terrorism, bombing and corruption. They aimed at deception under the pretext of the right to perpetuate the falsehood, and they did not know that the words are witnessed by the people every moment of their lives. They differentiate between right and wrong. As the saying goes: “The only beginning of a temptation is to follow your whims, and master deception.” In this way, the intentions and machinations are exposed and bared of those who tried to persecute WikiLeaks, and failed.
