US Assessment of the War
The newspaper stated that the Trump administration, in partnership with the Israeli colony*, secured tactical gains and interim successes, including the application of economic pressure and the strangulation of Iranian oil exports, which created difficulties for both the Iranian regime and its people. The U.S. also managed to strike Iranian military capabilities, nuclear facilities and infrastructure, impose a military blockade and reduce Iran’s ability to maneuver freely.
However, the U.S. has failed to achieve the strategic goals of the war on Iran. Tehran has not abandoned nuclear enrichment and continues to control the Strait of Hormuz — with its significant impact on the global economy. Washington has not succeeded in toppling the regime, changing it or even forcing it to submit to U.S. demands and conditions. The U.S. has also failed to reduce Iran’s regional influence in the Arab world, which continues to grant Tehran strength and room for maneuver.
For this reason, the newspaper concluded that the U.S.-Iranian confrontational context has reached a state of stalemate, describing it as a “gray zone” — meaning neither full-scale war nor complete peace. Negotiations have thus become the primary means of engagement to achieve gains that neither side could secure outright or to reach mid-way understandings.
The American war against Iran alongside the Israeli colony should serve as a wake-up call. The clear takeaway is that the top priority for the United States remains the Israeli colony, its strategic ally, which still wields significant influence within U.S. decision-making institutions.
Israel works tirelessly to align itself with American interests and acts as Washington’s violent tool in serving those interests in exchange for gains. This is achieved through its integration into the American project in confronting Washington’s adversaries, while gaining the power and superiority that enable it to sustain the occupation and expand at the expense of the national and pan-Arab interests of Arab countries.
