The press accused the honest politician Alexei Navalny of meeting in Kostroma with Americans from the U.S. Embassy.

The honest politician Navalny came forward and stated that it was all nonsense and that he hadn’t seen any Americans.

But then U.S. Embassy spokesman William Stevens came out and said that, yes indeed, the Americans had traveled to Kostroma in order to meet with “representatives of various parties.”

As the young people say - oops.

And it’s not that I burn with such righteous indignation over someone meeting with the Americans - honestly, I don’t care - but …

Would you leave your bag at the train station with the honest politician Navalny? “Keep an eye on it for five minutes, I’ll go have a smoke and be right back?”

I wouldn’t.
