California's Referendum

The majority of Californian voters have voted in favor of prohibiting the marriage of homosexuals in their state constitution, which has now joined Florida and Arizona. It is the most homophobic decision that has been seen in the United States in recent times. To constitutionalize a restriction of rights is very serious and the homosexuals in North America have to take good notice of it collectively.

The struggle now should concentrate in introducing an amendment to the North American Federal Constitution that would permit gay marriage, eradicating the discrimination towards this collective group. What would be achieved is a historic milestone of equality like that of the 13th amendment of the Constitution of 1865 that prohibited slavery. Will Barack Obama be a president of civil rights like Abraham Lincoln? This we will see. The homosexuals that live in California, Florida and Arizona would be able to initiate a peaceful uprising by going to live by the masses in the states of Massachusetts and Connecticut, which do allow gay marriage. They should start a large protest all over like the uprising Martin Luther King Jr. launched, in order to reach equal rights one day.
