American Military Aid: Sugarcoated Poison Extremely Important to Avoid

America has suspended $800 million in military aid to Pakistan. According to the highest level sources in America, the aid has been suspended because of particular measures taken by the Pakistani government. The aid will not be resumed until relations return to normal. According to the respected newspaper The New York Times, the Obama administration is annoyed with threats that Pakistan is making about vacating Shamsi Air Base and expelling American trainers. In addition, the suspension of aid is also supposed to put pressure on Pakistan to be more effective against terrorists. The funds that have been withheld include $300 million for military expenses for Pakistani soldiers stationed on the Afghan border. This military aid is a kind of poison for Pakistan — presented with sugar coating. This aid does not benefit the Pakistani armed forces or the Pakistani people. A long list of demands is attached to the aid, and accepting it means yielding to these demands. America wants the Pakistani army to fight against its own people and destroy them.

When someone or some group strays from the righteous path and moves toward extremism, the first thing to do would be to look at their track record and ask why they have adopted extremism. If they were peaceful before, why are they armed now? Whenever any state faces such circumstances as those Pakistan faces now, that country sits down with its misguided citizens and holds discussions with them, and if they were victims of some injustice then the state compensates for it, in order to bring them into the national fold. It is a globally accepted rule of law that even when someone confesses to a heinous crime, they are not shot nor is their house bombed; instead they are arrested and brought to trial. If they are found guilty then they are punished and if they are found innocent, then they are honorably discharged. This is the law that is enforced in America; however, it wants Pakistan and Afghanistan to follow the law of the jungle. It is America’s wish to shoot anyone who has weapons without any trial, and destroy their houses with bombs and it does not matter how many innocent people die in its operations.

America also wants our army to attack madrasahs (religious schools) and mosques. But how can the army of a Muslim country attack madrasahs and mosques? The mosques and madrasahs hold no significance for America because it is a non-Muslim country and it is especially thirsty for Muslim blood. In its eyes, Muslim blood is not even worth water, and America is not even ready to give Muslims the status it accords to animals in Western countries. It eliminates anyone who speaks up against it like an ant, and America has initiated most of the bloodshed and violence that has taken place in the world until now. America is the country that kills fifty innocent people while trying to get one wanted person.

America should understand that the Pakistani military is not a mercenary organization like Blackwater, but it is the army of a nuclear-armed Muslim country and it is not willing to take money from America and kill innocent people. If it suspends economic aid to the army not only will the army survive but the people will also be able to live within their means. Our advice to the Pakistani army and government is that they should announce that Pakistan will no longer take any kind of aid from America and, even if America agrees to restore the aid, we should not take it. In addition, the government, along with the military, should reduce its expenses. In addition, the nation should also be convinced to live a simpler life. However, this will only come about when the leaders themselves become an example of simple living. Wearing plain clothes, eating simple food and having simple weddings for their sons and daughters, staying away from pretentiousness, these are the kind of attributes that would eliminate the need for any kind of foreign aid if adopted by the Pakistani people. In this respect, if the president, prime minister, army chief of staff, chief justice, leaders of major political parties, ministers and advisors start to live simple lives, then people will start to follow them and Pakistan will forever be able to rid itself of influence from other countries due to aid.
