This is what you would call a big fat fiasco. Not content with having provoked an outcry in Puerto Rico by stating that its people should begin speaking English in order to one day become a state, and not content with taking a beating from his rival Mitt Romney, here Rick Santorum is ridiculed on the web.
While he was taking a short break on a lounge chair facing the ocean, the Republican politician was immortalized by another tourist during a break in which he put his little belly on display. Published on Buzzfeed, the image forced the ultraconservative Republican’s protégé to…apologize. Yes! Because to become a U.S. president, an Apollo-esque physique seems to be obligatory: “I know I probably should lose, 15, 20 pounds,” Santorum confirmed on the radio, explaining that he was working on it. “I didn’t know that anyone was taking a picture of us. I apologize to all of those because I’m sure that’s not a pretty sight.”
The world is turning a little better already…
