Europe: American Visits, but in European Clothes!

Edited by Anita Dixon

Europe wanted to be proactive in the announcement of Mr. Mohammed Morsi’s release, so we were surprised by the German foreign minister (speaking strangely at the time): When he spoke of the secure release of Morsi and the need to visit him and to investigate his health and living conditions, he also spoke about the necessity of his release from his prison!

It is strange that the French foreign minister repeated what the German foreign minister said in fiery statements. The French President Francois Hollande did the same thing. The three forgot that the jailed man, Mohammed Morsi, had an order issued against him by the public prosecutor for his incarceration for 15 days, pending an investigation. That statement on the part of Europe, occupied by France politically and Germany economically, means that the old continent despises the Egyptian legal decisions and does not pay attention to the Egyptian public prosecutor, as if Egypt is not a state but rather a small garden belonging to Europe. However, this will not happen and will not be! Egypt is a big state in its region. It knows Hammurabi’s Code and the Book of the Dead from ancient Egypt, which for thousands of years governed a social peace that we miss a lot now!

To be fair, remember that Europe was the first one interested in the state of societal division in which Egypt is living! But, fairly, the visit by Catherine Ashton, the high representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, did not come to anything. She reiterated that she did not propose an initiative and only tried to call attention to the latest developments in Egypt. She spoke with European ambassadors in Cairo about dealing with real events and the jailing of Morsi, although it is a definitive fact.

I want to say that this visit, even if it seemed European, was a distinctly American visit, because the only things discussed were at the behest of the American will, the same as the German foreign minister’s visit and the visit from the African Elders Committee. Thus, it is America always, be she absent or present!

This means that counting on Europe has no value. The truth is that we live in the shadow of a unipolar regime. After the disintegration of the former Soviet Union and the segregating of America by international resolution, Europe attempted — in the time of former French President Jacques Chirac and former German Chancellor Schröder — to have a different personality than America and maintain complete independence in decision-making. But, it did not succeed, so Europe returned to the American house of obedience with Sarkozy, Francois Hollande and the German Chancellor Merkel, its dreams of being independent and a unique entity from America lost.

We started to find ourselves under the cover of American dominance. Thus, Europe surrendered to America. This is apparent in situations such as Egypt and the Middle East and, previously, in the Balkans and in many other countries of the world. In other words, Europe saw that its whole role was to leave the important decisions to America and to sign checks!

We sensed this in the current controversy around Egypt and its division into two camps: one camp with and one camp against. Thus, though the European and African movements occur, they do not occur except at the behest of America. But we can see through the American cover… [America’s motives are] stark naked!

America is only driven by its interests and the interests of its one strategic friend in the region, Israel.

In the time of Mohammed Morsi, these two countries — America and Israel — obtained everything that they dreamed of. Morsi gladly sold his homeland to them.

Strangely, he [Morsi] talked about things that ignited the people’s imagination while he was a deputy in the Egyptian parliament, like his reservations about the Camp David treaty and the relationship with Iran as a powerful Islamic and Middle Eastern state. [America] forgot these words and worked with him, as if nothing had happened!

With respect to calling something by its true name, the European role is a sham and has no value to it, because Europe, in order to preserve its interests, blends in with the American position and agrees to move at its behest. This has been clear since the beginning. Before President Sarkozy handled the obligations of his office after his victory, he turned to Washington to get America’s blessing. The same thing happened with Chancellor Merkel, who was provoked to go to Washington before starting her work in Germany.

Thus, when we say that the visit of Ashton, the European commissioner, was an American visit but in European clothes. We say nothing untrue!

We do not forget that Europe is the first continent whose countries discussed Islamophobia. It has a pathological and unjustified fear of Islam! America invested in this anti-Islamic environment in Europe to help Europe transform Egypt into a hotbed of violence and Islamic terrorism. Thus, in a time in which dozens of Egypt’s police and its army in the Sinai died, elements of al-Qaida in Iraq fled and settled in the Sinai.

That means that there is a plan to transform Egypt into the focal point for all the terrorists in the world.

There remains one important point I would like to discuss. It is that the [Muslim] Brotherhood regime is much less [important] than we think. They are one political power in Egypt, but they are not the deceptive power that others consider them.

They proved that when they ruled for about a year. We discovered the [Muslim] Brotherhood’s shallowness. No skills; no experience. And we thought they were a real political power.

How correct was one of the Moroccan investigators when he said that the [Muslim] Brotherhood regime was useful only in demonstrations and in protests, but had no experience in government. The proof of that is in their failure to govern Egypt!

We also exaggerate the image of the international organization of the [Muslim] Brotherhood. Assuredly, they are much less [powerful] than we imagine. There were some signs in Egypt, Hamas, Afghanistan and Malaysia. But an organization has a headquarters and administration. We exaggerate many things, including the alleged international organization!
