To Trump, the World Would Be Better Off With Saddam Hussein and Gadhafi

Donald Trump never stops. Often mocked and criticized for his controversial statements, the candidate for the 2016 Republican primary in the United States struck again this Sunday. In an interview granted to the American television channel, CNN, he assured that the world would be much better if the old dictators of Iraq and Libya, Saddam Hussein and Moammar Gadhafi — respectively overthrown in 2003 and 2011 during military interventions conducted or supported by the United States — were still in power.

“The Trump doctrine is strength!”

“100 percent,” responded the American billionaire to the question posed by a CNN journalist. “I mean, look at Libya. Look at Iraq. Iraq used to be no terrorists. He (Hussein) would kill the terrorists immediately, but now it’s like the Harvard of terrorism,” explained Donald Trump. “Frankly there is no Iraq and there is no Libya. It’s all broken up. They have no control. Nobody knows what’s going on,” he continued.

The Republican candidate for the next presidential election stated that America was confronted by a return to “medieval times,” a violent brutality in the Middle East unseen “for thousands of years.” “People are getting their heads chopped off. They’re being drowned,” he insisted. “This is why I want to build up our military, because we need it now maybe more than ever before.” According to him, “the Trump doctrine is very simple, it’s strength.”

“Take the Oil”

“Libya is a disaster. Iraq is a disaster. Syria is a disaster. And it all blew up around Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. It all blew up,” he enumerated in a direct critique of the Obama administration’s foreign policy and of the Democratic candidate who was secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.

Still concerning Iraq, the tycoon estimated that the United States should never have withdrawn without “taking their oil.” “Because right now you know who has the oil. And you know who is buying the oil, is China. They don’t have 10 cents in this whole deal, and they are buying the oil. They are the biggest customer,” the billionaire affirmed, apparently unfamiliar with the financial power of Beijing. “So you have the oil going to ISIS and we have the oil going to Iran, and Iran will end up with most of it, and ISIS will have plenty, because they got plenty of money because they took the oil, because we were stupid,” he hammered.
