The United States aims to divert the world’s attention from what it does by inventing and fabricating crises with Iran, said Dr. Rajab Safarov, director of the Contemporary Center of Iran. The most recent evidence of this was in the announcement about the involvement of Iranian officials in an assassination attempt on the Saudi ambassador to the United States.
The fact of these American claims, said Safarov, is that the U.S. allegations are meant to deceive the international community. Although the international community questioned this information, saying that it is not logical or real and is more like a provocation, the United States went to the U.N. Security Council and other international human rights bodies in order to enhance their position.
The actions of the United States come at this time because they are part of the heinous American strategy to draw the attention of the international community onto Iran in order to establish sanctions and isolate Iran from the world, Safarov added. Hence, we see intransigence on Iran’s nuclear program.
The U.S. foiled a wonderful Russian initiative on Iran because the Americans have no interest in solving the problem, Safarov emphasized. America’s allies are compelled to reject the initiative as well, and they also direct the world’s attention either to Syria now, or to Iran in the near future.
The policy of the United States, especially in the Obama period, has not been friendly toward Iran or directed to find points of agreement between the two sides, Safarov said. With the advent of tense relations between the two countries under Obama, as well as the advent of Obama’s governance, we now hear terrifying statements of scenarios for a military solution to the Iranian problem.
Safarov explained recently on the news channel Russia Today that the Iranian nuclear program is not permanently linked to the United States, because the Iranians, without regard to the United States or others, are developing their own programs. This program has obtained guarantees from the International Atomic Energy Agency as a peaceful nuclear program. Moreover, Iran is acting gracefully and extremely sedately. Any other nation that is allied with Iran is used to having to control the situation, because Iran knows that any action on its part will be deemed negative and create a lot of problems for itself.
