Ukrainian Ex-Premiere: America Purposefully Destroyed Ukraine’s Military-Industrial Complex

America's goal was the destruction of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, which was closely connected with Russia, former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov announced.
"And do you know what's most important to the Americans? — I came to this conclusion as a result of my meetings with them — stopping Ukraine's military-industrial complex, because it complemented the military-industrial complex of Russia," Azarov said on the air with channel Rossiya 1.
It was reported earlier that U.S. President Barack Obama admitted that American authorities acted as intermediaries during the regime change in Ukraine.
Readers will recall that in June of 2014 Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko banned all military-technical cooperation with Russia, whom Kiev blames for the conflict in the Donbass. Furthermore, a number of Western countries imposed sanctions on the Russian Federation, including sanctions on military contracts. In response, Russia announced that it was planning to independently produce nearly all military products within the framework of an import-substitution program.
Former head of the Ukrainian government Nikolai Azarov presented his book "Ukraine at the Crossroads" in Moscow. In the book he gives his opinion on events in Ukraine, starting with the coup in February of 2014. As reported by RIA Novosti, during his presentation he stated that the goal of the Maidan protestors was to depose the existing authorities. According to him, "Maidan" supporters from the beginning had never planned to reach an agreement with the authorities. “They didn't need a compromise, they needed to remove those authorities. Are the current authorities really championing the interests of the Ukrainian people? Their actions are aimed at destroying, at turning the country into a battering ram against Russia."
The Ukrainian ex-premiere also shared how, during talks with former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich, trained individuals came to Kiev in order to implement the coup. The riots were prepared according to the Libyan scenario: It was assumed that Yanukovich would be killed just as Moammar Gadhafi had been.
In Azarov's opinion, the current authorities have an interest in war. For Kiev, military action is the best "way to justify the theft and corruption that is now on a much higher level in Ukraine than it was before."
